Yes dear the banks did pay back the TARP. The feds are now trying to use those funds (which were supposed to go back to pay off the deficit) to pay for stimulus II. Since stimulus I did so much for us for the $787billion it cost us.

2. The banks have already paid the TARP $ back. Not only did they pay back everything they owed but they paid it back with interest and penalties.
3. When the gov't taxes the banks they will pass it along to the consumer. It's what they do. One of those pesky unintended consequences the govt so often disregards.

Medicare tax rate is 2.9%. The highest income taxes for 2010 is 35%. 35% + 2.9% = 37.9% not 53%, you only have a 40% increase in taxes there, you where SO close. ([53-37.9]/37.9=.4)

Clinton rose taxes, stimulating the economy, making the dollar worth more. Even then when we have a surplus of money when he left office republicans still complained about him. Now after Bush left... 12 trillion in debt and a war... but lower taxes! Taxes is what pays for everything! Schools - fire + police departments - the post office - the army - fixing roads etc.
But not health care.
If I was within the 1% of Americans (Wealthy) I would be republican all the way, but until then democrat.
