If you shoot at a high shutter speed . 2000 or something then slow the footage down with a time warp your high fall footage will have no blur making the action men look full scale.
So what are you going to be doing another video. Also remember some of the ideas that I gave you for airbags and outtakes of the guys landing on them :)
Thanks for your nice comments. I know everyone must think I'm completely barmy...maybe you have to be a little bit mad to take on a film project like this...I just hope I can make a great movie that will make it all worthwhile.
I did not see it in the video. I use to do the same thing with my GI Joe. I would use a large trash bag and fill it with air. Then I would leave part of the bag open so that when they laded it looked like they were landing on a real airbag.
Aaha - like in the real movies I try hard not to show the landing - in a couple of the clips though you can just see the edge of the crash box at the edge of the shot. I like the air-bag you describe - great idea - the highest falls I've filmed so far work out to about 96 feet in 1/6 scale (16 feet in real height). If I try higher falls in future I might need to use an air bag like you suggest. For the look-straight-down shot on the stairs I used a piece of carpet with padding underneath!
Sounds good - I might just do that! The movie I'm trying to do will hopefully have some out-take set-ups. I might even do a feature on the stuntmen with them dressed in shirts and jeans practicing the stunts lol. I like your videos by the way - you're lucky to have such a great air bag and be able to do high falls for real. I have to make do with 12inch tall stuntmen! How high do you do falls from? What is the safe limit for your air-bag?
This is incredible.

If you make another video it would be kind of cool to make a few outtakes and show the GI Joes landing on the airbag LOL

You should have had little airbags for them to land on :)

Well actually, I use a crash-box packed with blankets - I always make sure they get a soft landing! Glad you liked the video.
