After reading the sentencing report and much of the evidence, I think she is guilty at least of lying extensively. People usually don't lie unless they are involved in a crime, somehow complicit. She had 2 weeks to recent about Lumumba, but she didn't. Ask yourselves why almost all of the girls from the cottage think Amanda guilty? I think that given the circumstance and involvement of "foreign" subjects, the American is innocent. If the same thing happened, with the victim being American and the setting being the USA, Knox would have unequivocally been charged as guilty, no questions asked.
Knox confessed under duress, why this is still being taken as a real admission of guilt is beyond me. I avoided the media reports about her on purpose, so I could write an article solely based on court evidence, and the evidence against Knox is sparse at best.

Amanda Knox DNA was not found on in the room but Rudy was differently in that room. The knife they said was weapon did not match the outline. All the evidence was not treated with care like should have been but instead was toss like yesturday trash. The gloves the police used was dirty and the bra clasp was not collected until six weeks later and on top of it they were just handing like was a toy. Amanda should set free basing off the lack of DNA evidence

The knife they recovered as so called murder weapon the independent experts stated that it did not have blood. The Sollecito's footprint did not match the bloody footprint found in the bathroom. There really is no credible DNA evidence against Knox. Their jury was not screened for bias and they were allowed to deliberate as the trial went on.

@Ceasan I don't know what the wording in Italy is but I presume it's something like "beyond a reasonable doubt", I'm sure reason was used to jail her, very few people would go to jail if it was "without any doubt" especially in cases without witnesses to the murder. I just got back from a stay in Perugia and all the people I interviewed are against Amanda Knox...there are all kind of theories some of them very wild being circulated but there is an absolute consensus right or wrong that she did something in relation to Meredith's death and is not telling the whole truth...her appeal does not look very hopeful at this point. I spoke to friends of both students and officials alike as well as police representatives and legal experts.

Parents by definition will be in denial of evidence which points to their child's guilt but many people did notice that her father seemed red in face with anger during the trial proceedings and part of this at least could have been at least unconsciously because he did realize that Amanda was guilty of something...maybe something terrible apart from being a slut and a druggie. In answer to your cleaning comment, since sperm does not have colour or odor most of the time - its not hard to see how Meredith did not even notice it. Most people's beds, if tested, will come up with a lot of sexual evidence.

@Giselle1403 It may not have any odor, but it gets all crusty. You tend to notice it. They said they have reason to believe it's Meredith's boyfriend's. But when you have a crime scene where a murder took place that was admittedly sexually motivated, and there's a cum stain on the bed, you don't just 'leave it to assumption', you test it. It's either a failure investigation of epic proportions, or they are deliberately withholding evidence. Because there is no way they could NOT have tested it.
@JonaBay I think that your impression is that it was a chunk of semen dumped on her pillow, yes that would be crusty. But I would say the reality is, that it is a few drops of semen which would not get crusty and could easily go unnoticed.

Why would they present Amanda's blood in the sink as evidence in court, but not the semen on the pillow? When the forensic team couldn't date either.

@JonaBay I can name you two American cases - one with 7 victims and the other 2 - stabbed to death in a violent battle for life - one victim has survived long enough to name to attacker.
Both cases - there is NO DNA evidence.
Forensics is not a substitution to detective work, it all goes hand in hand, the forensic evidence with the witnesses, the phones, the computers, the circumstantial evidence and their own behavior and statements.

So much came out in the trial about Knox, where she tried to avoid culpability every step of the way. The clumsy alibi didn't work, so she tried another lie. That failed. Tries another one, again and again. Her attitude was Meredith is dead, nothing I can do about it and so let me get on with my life.

I believe she is innocent. When I first heard that the "jealous" Amanda killed her "sober minded" roomate in a pot-fueled sex orgy / possible satanic ritual gone wrong I had SERIOUS doubts about the prosacution. That scenario Is just too ridiculous to even consider. I think that if Amanda had not been the first to discover the body, she would have never been in question. This whole trail, the media and everything, came off like a total witch-hunt.

And their alibis don't match, and then they keep changing. What's true is true, it doesn't change. And why not tell the truth anyway, if not hiding something? When asked about Meredith's DNA on the knife, Raffaele said she cut herself while cooking at his place; Amanda stated that Meredith had never been to Raffaele's place.
I have to say, I feel really bad for Amanda's parents, however there is no doubt in my mind that Amanda is guilty of murdering or assisting in the murder of Meredith. My heart even more so goes out to Meredith's parents for they will never be able to see their daughter again. At least she is in a better place now, and away from this crazy world we live in.

Amanda Knox DNA was not found on in the room but Rudy was differently in that room. The knife they said was weapon did not match the outline. All the evidence was not treated with care like should have been but instead was toss like yesturday trash. The gloves the police used was dirty and the bra clasp was not collected until six weeks later and on top of it they were just handing like was a toy. Amanda should set free basing off the lack of DNA evidence

The knife they recovered as so called murder weapon the independent experts stated that it did not have blood. The Sollecito's footprint did not match the bloody footprint found in the bathroom. Knox's DNA on the knife could have been somewhere else. It cooking tool so off course DNA will be on there.

@Ceasan I don't know what the wording in Italy is but I presume it's something like "beyond a reasonable doubt", I'm sure reason was used to jail her, very few people would go to jail if it was "without any doubt" especially in cases without witnesses to the murder. Lots of people withdraw confessions after speaking to their lawyers.

I just got back from a stay in Perugia and all the people I interviewed are against Amanda Knox...there are all kind of theories some of them very wild being circulated but there is an absolute consensus right or wrong that she did something in relation to Meredith's death and is not telling the whole truth...her appeal does not look very hopeful at this point. I spoke to friends of both students and officials alike as well as police representatives and legal experts.

Parents by definition will be in denial of evidence which points to their child's guilt but many people did notice that her father seemed red in face with anger during the trial proceedings and part of this at least could have been at least unconsciously because he did realize that Amanda was guilty of something...maybe something terrible apart from being a slut and a druggie. He had to stick to his prescribed role of outraged father defending a 100% innocent stance.

Which makes absolutely no sense what so ever. Meredith would rag on Amanda about her dish washing skills but then leave sperm on her pillow for days, where your face goes. I'm being sarcastic, of course she (most likely) wouldnt. Since all evidence testing was under the thumb of the prosecution, it was never brought into court.

In answer to your cleaning comment, since sperm does not have colour or odor most of the time - its not hard to see how Meredith did not even notice it. Most people's beds, if tested, will come up with a lot of sexual evidence.
Anyway, in what way would it help identifying the murderer?

But when you have a crime scene where a murder took place that was admittedly sexually motivated, and there's a cum stain on the bed, you don't just 'leave it to assumption', you test it. It's either a failure investigation of epic proportions, or they are deliberately withholding evidence. Because there is no way they could NOT have tested it.

I'm going to repeat myself, when you have a serious crime that was admittedly sexually motivated, YOU TEST THE SEMEN. If it turns out to be Meredith's boyfriend's that lives downstairs, then atleast you can offically rule it out. This is investigation 101. YOU DON'T JUST LEAVE IT TO ASSUMPTION. It couldn't have been there for more than a week, since most people wash their bedsheets atleast once a week.

When you are bleeding, you're supposed to hold it over the sink. Amanda said it was from a piercing, but it could have been from anything as simple as brushing her teeth. Why would they present Amanda's blood in the sink as evidence in court, but not the semen on the pillow? When the forensic team couldn't date either.

Both cases - there is NO DNA evidence.
Forensics is not a substitution to detective work, it all goes hand in hand, the forensic evidence with the witnesses, the phones, the computers, the circumstantial evidence and their own behavior and statements.

I believe she is innocent. When I first heard that the "jealous" Amanda killed her "sober minded" roomate in a pot-fueled sex orgy / possible satanic ritual gone wrong I had SERIOUS doubts about the prosacution. Personally i am really proud of Kercher's family i have recently begun studying this case for Media and they seem like they just want to remember their daughter as a wonderful girl and try to continue with thier lives.
