What Bechet would play if he saw NO now! A Blues elegy. Sounds like a funeral walk to me. The shrill sound of cathartic weeping, the sway of the walk to life's heartbeat.
Mr Bechet, SIR, I have no words; nothing that I could possibly say would come close to describing my reverence and gratitude to hear such a profound mastery of the blues, of music in general and of the Divine expression of the human soul.

This is horrible. Did they record this by playback or why do they play on different time levels? It´s extremely dillettantic and nothing like I ever heard of Bechet.
@MrJimmienoone you picked the wrong place to be degrading music with an ugly comment like that. If you have never heard anything like this from Bechet, you obviously weren't listening.
Gracias por compartirlo.

I've loved Bechet's music since 1948, still can't get enough of it. "Texas Moaner" first record I ever bought.

Just had to come back for more. I haven't heard a piece quite like this before. Dark, slightly daunting, but very exciting.

@memphis148 Care to show us how to produce a vibrato as soulful as this? You have wax in your ears my friend.

It is my understanding that this recording (Oct. '47) was not released. Can you confirm that your info is correct?
Thanks.
