  • Bitch magnet for ever

  • One of my all time fave albums!!!!! Never forget some douchebag came round for a jam in one of the first bands I was in - we played him this for him as an example of one of the influences - he looked dumbfounded & unimpressed & said "oh that just sounds like a jam in someones bedroom.." the band didn't evolve much further - but the CD got so played by everyone who lived in the house it was unplayable a year later!!! So great to hear it again!!!! \m/

  • Can You Post "Carnation" ?!??! Thank You !!!

  • Wow, this is still just as good today. Maybe hard for people to understand today, but this was all done before Nevermind and the whole Seattle thing. Back then alternative meant looking through weird record stores for bands no one had heard about. Amazing band, pity they released close to nothing.

  • I used listen to this album a lot when I was in high school. I've learned this song today, basic chords, it starts with A D E when doing the noise, after that E B A - E B D and so .. little solo based on the A major scale, I didn't pay much attention yet guess sounds good.

  • fucking great album.

  • why the name?

    bitch magnet?;s

    stuck at this :S

  • "he's a little bent / he's a little strange / there's something missing.

sits her on his lap / as he races 'round the track / into his minute of bliss

he's king gasoline with /hands stinking of vaseline "

thanks for the kind words, all. Bitch Magnet reissues, with non-LP extras, coming in '11 on Temporary Residence. We have a page up on Facebook where we've posted news/old photos/etc.

  • He's a little bent / and he's a little straight

It's all puns on cars, racetracks, sexuality, etc.

  • It's really good, but I still prefer Seam

  • He's a little...wretch/bitch, and he's a little strange/strained..?

  • wheres goat legged country god? orestes is fukkin underated drummer, this album i played to death when it came out. thanks for uploading.

  • Yeah, Orestes fuckin slays.

  • awesome man fukkin classic album.

  • Great!!!

  • Ben Hur is still my fav.

  • well, that's probably because you have to be into hardcore punk and noise rock to appreciate them

  • this has been my going out music for 20 years and always will be. bang it up load and there is nothing better. never quite enjoyed a full album by them, but this, 'douglas leader' and 'americruiser' are why i keep going back to 'umber' all these years on.

i like playing this quietly, acoustically, but have never quite nailed the 'he's a real...' bit lyrically. any ideas? it sounds like 'he's a real bitch...he's a real skank' to me but surely that can't be right...

  • sorry for that, i'm italian so i haven't been able to figure out the lyrics except for the first few lines and the refrain (i guess he says: "i'm the jack and i'm the king"...am i right?).

I also play this song on guitar (need tabs!), but i like to rock out on electric :) what chords do you play exactly?

  • yeah, i reckon it's my motor, feel it burn my engine, you hear it sing cos i'm the jack and i'm the king i'm the jack and i'm the king he's a real ??, he's a real ?? there's something missing sits there on his back as he races round the track into his minute of bliss wasting gasoline his hands stinking of vaseline ...cos the jack and i'm the king as for the playing it's simply an amateur hour job, with a ghostly second electric with the treble turned down for the solos.
  • thanks for the lyrics! I hear that part more like "here's a little badge and here's a little string (?)" but i think i'm wrong

  • @emptyheadbrokenbones he's a little bent and he's a little spent

  • why?

  • i think not buddy, go back to take that.

  • @rbrawley63125 they said the same thing about your mom!

at least she didn't have any teeth, so that was good.

sounds like she shoulda rolled over and spit your ass on the wall if you ask me.

  • Saw them in '89. They played Americruiser and Joyless Street (they pretty much played Star Booty and Umber from start to finish!) and I don't think I've recovered. Beyond awesome.

  • Reform please.
