Forgot how much I loved Gary's music and other synth bands at the timeI want to go back to 1981/82 for a couple of nights, has anyone got a time machine?
I dont know this song. fascinating. I think he should come out ( assuming he is gay) and drop the cyborg ice queen persona - and take the piss out of him self and start a new career, assuming he hasn't become a record producer or something. He has heaps of talent and a past = publicist! Whatever. Good on ur gazza.

kazandra1 enjoyed reading your comment as I did something similar all those years ago and loved every minute of it lol. Not sure I looked as good as Gary in the leather and metal poles outfit I knocked up tho haha...............
@MACHMAN1930 There were a few of us doing this back then... chasing the Numan coach after the gig to find out what hotel he was staying at. lol. Managed to sneak into a few after show parties too. Great days. :-)
Myself and a few friends followed most of this tour... a long and gruelling one...sleeping three in my old car. Nightmare at the time - cold, hungry, ran out of money except for fuel (but petrol was only 60p a gallon then!), falling asleep at the wheel getting to the next gig...but what a riot! And not only did we have Numan, we had the best support band ever, Tik and Tok!
@leonakita WTF? who the hell are you to call me a deadbeat!? I am neither lazy nor in debt. Back then I was a teenager, and had a job, which I took holiday from to follow the tour. I had my own car, which I had paid for. I owed nobody nothing. I just ran out of money on the tour. I am now a Mother of children, and run my own company. Deadbeat? NOT!
I don't mean to be horrid, dear, but that's a bit hypocritical. Your last comment was only to tell someone that THEIR opinion was wrong and that they're full of crap.
attended the warriors tour .........excellent a genius and an artist......orginality is in the eye of the beholder.......one persons original thoughts are anothers plagerised nightmares.........
anyone knows who sang the backing vocals on Poetry and Power? I think it was very unusual for Numan to use male backing vockals the only other song I remember was The Secret with Zaine Griff...
I adore Numan and have since the late seventies. Like all long-term artists, he's made a few weird choices along the way but he still kicks ass. He lost me with this album, however. Won me back as always but I just couldn't rock the warrior period...sob...
Love is like Claw-Claw? don't forget "Rhythm of the Evening": "look at your face.....it's so fortunately arranged!" lol. wasn't "This Prison Moon" written by his brother or something?
this guy should get someone to help him down out of his own arse.how does one take ones self so seriously when one is dressed in a mad max fancy dress outfit.
Dude, this was taped more than 20 years ago. If you're still getting your knickers in a twist over how seriously someone took themselves in 1983, you're the one who needs help.
lol yep and the die-hards wonder why this berk had the piss ripped out of him. I'm a fan of Numan 78-82. The rest has been embarassins crud. I remember showing the Warriors album cover to a mate at school his reaction "What a c***!" lol!! spot on!!!!!!!!!!!
rough guess they look like Mark 3 ARP Odysseys. But at the time Numan's favoured machine (and what he rates as the best analogue synth) was the Oberheim OBXa.

Bill Nelson (ex-Bebop Deluxe, well-respected solo artiste), who co-produced most of the LP but fell out with Numan and had the credit removed.

I was'nt really a Numan fan! He was one of these musicians who produced albums with 'skippable' tracks!!!!
simoncuming41 3 years ago
I'm sure all the bands you listen to produce only top ten hits. They probably smell like roses too don't they?
What a moronic comment. All bands have bad songs.
josiahcox37 3 years ago
So you admit Gary Numan produced some bad songs. Thanks for agreeing.
simoncuming41 3 years ago
Warriors is a very under rated album, it has some greats ong but ventures a bit too far away from what made him good in the first place
Musically it is great but it is quite un-Numan ish
That said this song, This Prison Moon, My Centurion and Love Is Like Clock Law are great songs
diesonneuk 3 years ago 2
Agree with you! I also adore "The Iceman comes" (for me one of the best Gary's songs)and bonus track "My car slides".
