I take into consideration when I say that though, that a lot of bands are unique in their own regards; another band that comes to mind is Rishloo, which, if you like Living Syndication and Tool, you'll enjoy them. Tool has been around for a long while, and I believe most of their popularity stems not only from their live shows, and lyrics, but how they're able to produce something entirely genuine for each album, but are able to stick to their original roots. There's something for everyone.

Theres a fair bit of Borland in there too, especially at the start.

Totally agree, this song has a lot of APC and a bit of Tool sound to it, particularly in its quieter parts and melodic vocals, but it is definitely not exactly like them, it has a very unique sound.

I'm IN the band, and I'll set the record straight. Dez left the band after a sold out show at the Hard Rock to play with his band of High School, COLD SHADOW. He was interested in playing more growling Metal. This is not the direction that LS was interested in taking. No one in the band is upset that Dez left, we felt it was for the best. However, we weren't happy about the WAY in which he left, which I will not get into. We are not upset, as things worked out great in the end. We wish him well.
