Regarding the clapping.. I know I clapped because I just landed in heaven!

I think you will see more people clap on charters and to vacation spots than on a "regular" flight between, say, Atlanta and Newark. The reason I think is because the people that fly on charters and to vacation spots are much less experienced travellers.

yeah I also think so...but I don't think that clapping is bad. I mean surely it's the job of the pilot but everybody get a praise (or like it's called) if he did something good.

You know, every time I see a video of some foreign taking a plane to enjoy our beaches and sun, makes me feel great that I have all those things right in my home. Despite I am 24, I've been only 3 or 4 times on east coast hotels, I think I am stuck in the city (Santo Domingo, 2:30 hours away by road).

I think we should not address people by their place of birth, that is somewhat shortsighted. But yes, you and everyone else should have as much fun as possible.
