With advancements in torpedo tech, like the latest mark 48, a big sub no longer has that multiple hit survivability when hit once in a tender area such as a torpedo room, dare i mention the Kursk, lucky shot or precision guidance system?

It's max speed was limited to 25 knots, plus, it couldn't operate silently at more than 6knots since the sub used twin screws and was so massive. American single screw subs were better such as the Los Angeles class. Plus, american sonar capabilities were wayyyy better then the russians...
