  • Holy shit Noel Fielding! I love these 2!

  • 5:24

That's a radiohead song on xylophone or something. What song is it?!

I feel like it's a bit from Paranoid Android.

  • 5:28, Karl's round head bobbing up and down ahaha!

  • I like seeing Karl laughing and smiling.

  • LIKE THE LAST BIT WHERE THE GUY THANK KARL FOR MAKING HIM LAUGH! KARL IS A Genius!!

  • "I think there'll be a lot of laughter at the hayward gallery for the exhibition"

    Karl: "Really?"

    Classic!

  • i love Karl and i think hes just soo TRUE & REAL!! and he's never changed himshelf since he got more noticed!! =)

  • "yeah just looks like a fire hazard..." hahahahahahaha

  • awww karl is so cute!

  • NOEL FIELDING <3

  • I love art, but I totally agree with Karl in most aspects with Modern art.

Like, homosexual climbing a flower, I mean, so what?

  • I like his unpretenious attitude and humour.

  • Aw! Pilkers always wins the day! And lovely seeing him and Noel hitting it off :)

  • Brilliant! And what a treat to see Noel Fielding as well. :]

  • i'm pretty sure karl pilkington is my favorite person i've never met in my life...he's so uniquely funny.

  • This is why I hate art galleries and most people walking around in it....

  • Alot of modern art is pretentious tosh though, let's be honest.

  • @TheEvilelvis89 not really..

  • @tomatoe39

    Yes, really.

  • I wish Karl presented everything on T.V - everything

  • Maybe I watch these guys too much, I started giggling like Ricky. "Is that just a gay bloke climbing a tree?" hahaha

  • Is that just a gay bloke planting a tree?

  • 'Laugher' as a 'Concept' in an Art Museum is about as Funny as Cancer!

  • "That was all a bit weird" Karl never laughs no matter where he is that's what's so funny about him it's all so deadpan and effortless!

  • I love getting Ricky's laugh, even when he's not around.

  • You can see that he's quite clever by how he analyses things and simplifies everything.

  • Is that the best man you can draw? hahahaah,

  • ''Is anyone one else laughing or is it just you on your own?'' classic

  • @adamjavoski last episode of season 2 of the ricky gervais show. he laughs

  • Classic Pilkington. He goes to an art exhibition dedicated to comedy where no one's actually laughing... shows people the video of Gervais sticking a vaccum in his face and everyone who sees it laughs.

  • This is funny and smart at so many levels.

  • Noel Fielding!

  • Art's full of pretencious tw@'s...Karl owned them.

  • modern art = shit

  • that exhibition looked shit and annoying

  • Karl has more natural comic instinct than every person in this exhibit put together.

  • 5:57 I've never seen Karl so enthusiastic! :D

  • i would have laughed when she said her surname was "Bate"

  • omg i cried with laughter karl is the man

  • I thought he was gonna draw the view

  • you know these people are crazy because they make Karl look normal!

  • genius in person

  • Why do Ricky and Steve NEVER talk about Karl's art? He's a surprisingly good cartoonist! They need to give him more credit. I wish I could pass out informational pamphlets or something. Karl IS talented! At least in that one respect.

  • @raspberryicedtea Thats what i thought! Although i bet he's never shown them any of his art.

  • I hate the pretentiousness of the first artist Karl talks to (can't be arsed to go back to find his name)

But I do love the fact that Karl is a much better artist than him. I have a sketch book full of doodles with that kinda shite in it, I wouldn't dream of trying to flog it to fool people into thinking there's hidden meanings.

    Or would I....

  • @Lateralus292 I agree. Those black and white amateurish drawings are crap. I even went to art school and crap like that doesn't appeal to me. I didn't think there was any hidden meaning to his work. I thought it was gimmicky.

Doodles from someone that wasn't a trained artist (your stuff) are probably far more interesting than this guy's work. You might be interested in a category of work called "Outsider Art". Which is art created by people that were never formally trained in art.

  • Would you ever think about... I dunno, colourin' 'em in?

  • you can tell Karl is soo uncomfortable in the laughing yoga class

  • NOEL FIELDING

  • The guy with those sketches is a tosser

  • Modern art is truly rubbish.

  • would you think of colouring them in?

  • The homosexual guy climbing the flower had me in stitches as soon as I saw the word "homosexual"

  • Whats art about that

  • Head like a f*cking orange!

  • Carl Pilkington AND Noel Fielding!?

AND a lesson on how to be spongebob!?

    OMFG.

  • untamedromeo dude she is not Chinese she is Japanese. Mami is a Japanese name. You just know that Karl would have asked her ethnicity before he asked her age.

  • Oh my god! Karl Pilkington, Noel Fielding and one of my lecturers all in one video! That is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen! Wish I was there!

  • Karl and Noel Fielding together...I love it. Both seem to have that childlike innocence to them.

  • KARL IS COMEDY GENIUS

  • When Karl did the workshop I nearly cried

  • haha karl doing the laughter exercise thing, omg i nearly popped

  • "So whats the idea then, Is the idea that people come and see you first and have a good laugh and see this art. or do they see the art say that wasnt that funny come hear and have a good laugh?"

  • Kill the Gay Flower!!!

  • GAY FLOWER

    L O L

  • Karl pilkington does the illustartions for his books and you know what hes better than all of them on this especially that fella doin the doodles of the gay climbing the flower wtf

  • "Would you ever think about... colouring them in?"

    Genius

  • what the fuck were they silly little doodles all about?thats not what i think of as art!

  • gay blokes art FAIL. well done karl lol

  • This is not art. It is utter shit!

  • The bloke who drew the flower is a proper prick. He isn't an artist

  • Cheers Nedco

  • Karl Pilkingtart is the new revoloution

  • 5:40

Karl: "or do they see the art and say that was not funny, come here and have a good laugh"

Lady: "well I think there's alot of laughter going on in the Heyward gallery"

    Karl: "really..."

  • People think Karl is stupid, but i believe he has a certain wisdom others tend to lack.

  • "They've not even given him any paper" lol.

  • has carl ever laughed?

  • @boutdempapers

He laugh at things that is totally not funny...

  • @boutdempapers look up "karl cant stop laughing" on youtube

  • See! Pilkington's a genius

  • lol that mans drawings were shite ,and karl knows it lool

  • that workshop was the gayest thing ive ever seen in my life.

  • karl pilkington is actaully right on alot of things

  • pissed myself when he suggested that Shrigley should colour his work in.

  • at around 5.54 can someone tell me which version of paranoid android this is?

  • That laugh-class is a bit to stressing for Karl i think.

  • It's just so round...

  • I love how Karl just dissects art in front of these artists.

  • he should do more shows like this, goin to places and tralkin about it n stuff, put on telle or somin.

thumbs up if you'd watch it.

  • During the laughing yoga bit, they play paranoid android! Awesome!!! Maybe kind of ironic as well :)

  • Karl looks like a burglar with that hat on

  • 6:34 love him

  • When Karl's walking, and he's saying "... so I'm off to meet a comedian, who is definitely funny, and he's quite good at art..." I'm thinking 'Oh, please let it be Noel Fielding!' and then I see the art, and I think 'YAY!!! Karl and Noel -- GENIUS!' How cool is that?

  • Comment removed

  • I almost DIED laughing seeing Karl at laughter yoga - just cause you never see him do anything similar to it :D

  • would you ever think about colouring them in?

  • karl....i love you, i love your obtuse logic and complete lack of pretentiousness. i'm sorry but that guy writing that message on the wall for him was just nothing. surely good art is something that you admire, not something that ANYONE can do, the only difference between me and that guy is that he's known as an artist and i'm not.

  • @fuckamericanidiot Yeah, but who are you to judge his art? "Anyone can do it" - That's the argument people use for modern art. The counter argument is "but you didn't, and neither did anyone else." Also, think of people in a month when they see that little message, I think it serves its purpose just fine.

  • @baughskeet and that's a reason to appreciate it? because he thought it was worth putting out there and committing himself to, where as the rest of us would probably dismiss it in a second without consciously realising it. that is not a talented man.

  • jesus christ... laughing workshop or one flew over the cuckoo's nest?

  • 'it's either a big flower or a small gay homosexual' .... BRILLIANT!

  • Head like a fucking orange.

  • Jeremy Deller says "there's too much laughing in it..." and thus probably not right for the exhibition. Wow...yet Richard Cork admits it's the first laugh he's had in the show...brilliant.

  • "Am in the third room already...still not laughin.... but she's lovin it... so am a bit awkward..."

  • Laughing workshop?! Poor Karl is probably wondering again if it's him...no worries Karl, it's them! You're perfectly alright.

  • HE'S SUPER NICE :D

  • noel fielding appearing in this was a pleasant surprise.

  • colour them in

  • the vacuum thing is priceless, cracks me up every time.

  • I actually love Noel's art, he's so talented! He's having another exhibition in June.

  • laughter yoga. that woman is insane.

  • why is nobody mentioning how ridiculously funny it is when the hoover sucks his face! i was in tears

  • Karl met Noel Fielding. Woo

  • and K the K man did 3 6music shows with Russell Brand.

  • Karl Pilkington has got a head like a FUCKING orange.

  • Oh man, at the end when that guy laughs at his movie... LOOK AT HIS LITTLE FACE. He's so happy.

  • the music played as Karl goes to the exhibition is part of a French song by Edith Piaf called La Foule. you can watch it on youtube, it is spectacular. if you like that then search milord :)

  • HEAD LIKE A FUCKING ORANGE

  • 5:57HAH look at karl

  • omg HAHAHAHA Karl at the laughter yoga class. PRICELESS !!! now THAT was funny. :) brilliant.

  • you just KNOW Karl asked the chinese lady her age !!!!

  • lmao he probably thinks shes about 20

  • @untamedromeo Hahahahhaha.

  • @untamedromeo and refused to believe her!

  • @untamedromeo

    lmao

  • @untamedromeo The lady is Japanese...

  • @nephosis how can u tell?

  • @xClaraJaynex 1:04 Her name is Japanese. Chinese and Japanese names are quite different, as is their spoken language. You can tell by the language/accent and name, because they're really different.

  • @untamedromeo She was Japanese.

  • Hate to be that guy, but can anyone tell me what's the song playing from about the 1:20 mark?

  • @ProverbsandPrisons

can't remember the name but its by richard hawley

  • Found it. Thank you.

  • 0:40

I thought he was drawing the sea, but of course he's just drawing a little elefant and a little horse. Karl is amazing!

  • At 8:30 the laugh fitted perfectly.

  • More Karl on TV!

  • I second that

  • magic pie!

  • ''would you ever think about eh... colouring them in?''

    I cried.

  • Forget Radiohead, Eels most of the way through!

  • waaaaaaay

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

  • Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!

  • it's a flower people!!;)remember it's a flower!!

  • they play paranoid android by radiohead during the laughter yoga bit on glockenspiels. i love karl. i love shrigley.

  • Those guys at the end are only laughing cos Ricky Gervais is featured in the video - and they realise that it's 'cool' to be a fan of Ricky Gervais - fake tossers.

Not saying that Ricky isn't great but if anyone else was vaccuming Karl's face I don't think they would have laughed at all.

  • You don't need a retard with an IQ of 83 to reveal the superficiality and vacuousness of post modern art. What a waste of time.

  • yet you watched it. silly boy

  • I doubt Karl Pilkington needs a cunt like you to feel like he's achieving something

  • Would your IQ be as low as his perhaps?

  • You've got me, well done. What's your beef with Karl Pilkington, re-reading your post you clearly don't even like the art he's gently and harmlessly mocking. Just a plain old grumpy bitter prick, or did you always want a job being a popular cult figure on a succesful podcast with several books to your name?

  • Actually, I have no problem with Karl - he seems like a nice guy.

And, no, I certainly don't want to be popular or a cult figure.

I think my original point was that you didn't need someone with such a high IQ as 83 to examine post modern art, because the job could be done by an imbecile.

  • this is just all mental. all of it

karl pilkington thought it was weird.

  • Paranoid Android at 5:25! Woop woop!

  • Lol yeah well spotted/heard.

  • lol at 6:00 you can tell that's karl laughing, its the same 'victory laugh' he does after proving ricky wrong about the lighthouse

  • fine some of it might be shit but why cant you try understand it

just because at picture isnt pretty and detailed doesnt mean its any less good

it might have another purpose than to be considered well drawn

and okay okay some people find him funny - i do not

thats just my taste in comedy

  • "you ever thought about colouring them in?" hahahahha WHAT A LEGEND!!!

  • fair dos but karl is just not that funny

well he is but rather funny at him than with him

  • shhhhhhh...... you shut up now.

  • well no.... For starters modern art is pure shite. if i can draw it...then it really isnt art. This was ment to be a art convention about comedy, and no one was laughing. I WANT TALENTED ARTESTS BACK! karl is the funniest person i have ever seen! he ses it like it is. reply to Asiosky211

  • I disagree with the whole "If I could do it, it's no good" idea, I think that's 100% bullshit. A friend of mine thinks the Blair Witch project is rubbish because he could've filmed it himself, but he didn't - because he didn't come up with the idea, and you didn't come up with these ideas. I have a pad of paper and a pen, but that doesn't mean I could write Moby Dick.

  • i suppose, but i wasnt talking about idea's. i meant pure skill, not everyone is good at art. some people are really talented and ACTUALLY have a skill. not just four squares on a page and call it art. they make paintings look like photo's. these are real artists, just my opinion. i don't think Moby Dick is art, its more academic skill. But yeah you have your opinions i have mine ;)

  • I suppose that's fair enough, but I don't think pure technical skill makes an artist at all. If someone sat down and copied a Van Gough perfectly, they'd have a great deal of technical skill, but not necessarily any creative skill whatsoever

  • I think they need a balance, but technical skill is a major part, its got to look good as well as having some creative meaning behind it, just being creative doesnt cut it for me.

  • But, lets say, half a cow in formaldahyde has meaning and is creative? Art is pointless, and thats the way its meant to be. If every piece of art had depth and meaning it would quickly become stale and boring. A room filled with styrofoam cubes, thousands of little paper people, a bent mirror or a huge crack in the floor is pointless, but considered a work of art none the less. Funny how art critics are not artists themselves, or at least ones that never bore merit...

  • Is anyone else laghing, or is it just you on your own lmao

  • "That was all a bit weird" here here!

  • "you don't have to play the guitar that well" er, yes you do...name one great band with a guitarist who can't play guitar.

Sorry to get sidetracked from the comedy - love Karl - but David Shrigley is a talentless fake.

  • sex pistols? nah i agree with you

  • "would you ever think about.... you know, colouring them thin?

    LOLLLLLL

  • ahh got me too!!! Bloody genius!

  • There is so much gold in this video. "It's all a bit awkward," "they haven't even given him any paper," "just looks like a fire exit," "Is that the best man you can draw?" -- his face when the lady starts the laughing exercise, the guy who says that artists don't have to be able to draw just like musicians don't have to be able to play music, the guy who doesn't like Ricky's laughing, and the fact that even just sitting at home with his paintings Noel Fielding's still wearing a fucking cape. <3

  • Karl is a genius!
