Either way you will have a great story to tell at parties. There are Disney personnel looking for drunks and guests on benders,I met one who told me what behavior they look for. It was there last year, you can see it if you look toward the center, its at bad angle though. I was really amazed that they kept it, and get away with it to this day.

actually, the MC Escher stairs was originally just 2 big spiders on their cobwebs on the left and right sides as u progress upwards before entering the room where the casket corpse is. also, the potraits that change when the lightning strikes used to be potraits of people that watch u drive by in the DBs. plus, the attic is different: the pictures were the places of ghosts in tuxedos, and the bride was an animatronic with a revealing heart.
Wow it looks really neat! I haven't been there since they remodeled it. I love what they did with the attic bride scene, it looks much better. Although I have noticed something, the whole thing looks cleaner than before. I liked the somewhat messy and dusty old look the Mansion had.
yeah i noticed that the ones in this mansion dont change anymore...that sucks...i liked those...there is actually a company that makes those (i think custom and premade) and you can buy them and have a working changing portrait...its like $200 i think...i might be wrong cause its been awhile since i checked it out, but i know you can actually buy changing portraits just like the ones in the mansions...

I think the falling is a reference to the "Winchestor Mystery House" in which there are many doors that lead to nowhere except one in the front that leads to a 20 foot drop.
It's really great that Disney put a lot of research into some of the attractions they built. It must mean a lot to the fans to know how much effort Disney put into creating the attractions that are important to so many people.

Well, in the portraits you see her with the men she married, and you'll see the men's heads disappear. Then when we actually get to see her, we see the axe or whatever it is in her hands, and know that she beheaded every one of them.

The change depressed me. The ride use to have a very interesting plot - if you knew about it. The update kinda killed it.
In the original the man hanging was the soon to-be husband. He caught the tailor with his arms around his bride and killed the tailor. The bride jumped out of the window. Thus, the husband committed suicide. If you look to the right as you're going down backwards to the graveyard, you'll see the broken window.
As much as I love the Haunted Mansion, they could have really ... uh... altered it. Make the ride really eerie and mysterious but then end with the happy "Grim Grinning Ghosts".

yeah, when i went on it the ride broke down as well. If you can remember the hallway where you can see something carrying a candle, that's where we broke down, and we where stuck there for like 10 minutes!
I'll be revisiting this ride sometime within the next few months. So did the fright factor go up any? I would assume the opening scene is really the only startle since it sounds really loud.

I love this ride. i went on it with my mom. When I first got in that room i started to get sooooo scared! Then when I got in the little cart thing and u start to go in the like pitch black tunnel I literaly thought i was gonna cry! I wouldn't open my eyes! I kept on saying,if I can't see it it's not there! lmao!! But once i got into the ride i really started to like it.
They finally got the attic bride right---the first was,visually,little more than a dressmaker's dummy with a green lightbulb inside;the second,with its stiff,spikey hair-crown,clorox-blue face,witches'hook-nose and mint-green eyes---well,it just never looked right to me.

i see 4 changes here:
1. the stairs used 2 b 2 spiders, and before the spiders used 2 b a gunshot hole in the center, i used 2 wurk there.
2. A new portait in the last hallway.
3. the bride talks and has a multicolored heart that glows.
4. they took out 2 tombstones that rocked, and replaced them with static 1s.

-the staring portraits corridor was turned into one similar in DL
-the spider corridor is now the staircases
-the walls have eyes after the staircases
-the stretch galleryhas new sound effects that are realistic, new paint job.
-madame leota is more clear and floating
-the attic of course
-the hitchhiking ghosts has no eyeballs
-the mirror at the end is more clear
-little leota hall is longer
-and the obvious, the ride is more clearer and cleaner

I love this ride, but the last two times I have been it's been closed. I hope it's open next time I go

after the women screams in the streching gallery, and then the loud boom sound, i almost shouted: "OH JESUS!!!!". This rides amazing.

yeah, when i went on it the ride broke down as well. If you can remember the hallway where you can see something carrying a candle, that's where we broke down, and we where stuck there for like 10 minutes!

I'll be revisiting this ride sometime within the next few months. So did the fright factor go up any? I would assume the opening scene is really the only startle since it sounds really loud.

tbh ... i love haunted mansion ... although everythime i go into the grave yard bit.. i wish they updated the music and anomatronics abit its so dated... i now like phantom mannor best... even with the updates!

I love this ride. i went on it with my mom. When I first got in that room i started to get sooooo scared! Then when I got in the little cart thing and u start to go in the like pitch black tunnel I literaly thought i was gonna cry! I wouldn't open my eyes! I kept on saying,if I can't see it it's not there! lmao!! But once i got into the ride i really started to like it.

a few things:
1)"Ghost Hosts" voice drifts around strecthing gallery room.
2) Thunder in strecthing gallery is 10 times louder and lightinig effect is better.
3)"Impossible Staircase" was added in with glowing green feet effect.
4)"Madam Leodas" crysral ball floats in the air.
5)heads in the portraits up in the attic disappear.
6) Attic bride was switched and you can see her entire face and while saying wedding vows, she holds up an axe.
7)graveyard is in synch w/ the music.

They finally got the attic bride right---the first was,visually,little more than a dressmaker's dummy with a green lightbulb inside;the second,with its stiff,spikey hair-crown,clorox-blue face,witches'hook-nose and mint-green eyes---well,it just never looked right to me.
