I forget the exact model, and I'd have to look at the stamp to find out (Which would require opening the gun safe, and getting it from the very back). But It's by Heckle & Koch, and is semi-auto stock and fires .308.
@TheBalenman With a .308, I should hope not. The AK uses the .223. Much smaller, with very little recoil. None if you're using an AR.
I'm sure I could fire the .308 pretty quickly (One shot every 1.5 seconds?), but it only has a five or eight round magazine depending on which one I use, and there would be chance to re-aim.
But, alas, I've never bought a scope for it, so it's uses are limited as it is. :\
Well Sir, Of course, these folks see a proper shop, watched the video, & played many games with these guns. That builds an expert resume in guns and gunsmith knowledge LOL!

(Gun, car, 4x4, and atv/motorcycle... Free degrees all around, for everybody!)
FAKE the AK-47 round the 7.62x39 doesn't have the range to be able to hit a target at 1000 yards nor does the 5.56x45 both of these rounds have a max range of about 350 yards. Which means they must have changed the caliber and the action so really all they did was make a rifle that looks kinda like an AK. So who ever did this tell the truth.
@sidfail max range is not 350 yards you dumbass. go stand at the 400 yard and we'll see if you will die from me shooting at you. dumbest comment ever.

Although not directly having an ak action, the Dragunov (distant relative of the kalashnikov family) has a very similar, reliable action, firing the 7.62x54, which is close (but not interchangeable with the 762x51mm or .308).
:0! LES TAEK AN IDEAUH, CHANJ IT SLITELY, AND SELLZ IT! Derp.
This show is so bad its not even funny...if you have even the simplest understanding of firearms knowledge your abobe this show...and stef is ugly as dirt
The SVD and PSL shoot the 7.62x54 bullet, while the AK shoots 7.62x39. This gun is cool but I HIGHLY doubt it's a thousand yard gun, the 39 bullet ballistics drop significantly after about 600meters.
@Lapinmiez It seems here the opposite is true, what the sights are graduated to does not matter much. Bullet drop (in this case about 108in @ 500m), energy, and muzzle velocity are things to consider. 1000m is generally reserved for 7.62x51mm and up.
My car's speedometer stretches out to 280kph, even though I know it is limited to about 230kph.
@Lapinmiez I have, in my possession, a Romanian WASR, along with several .30 calibre rifles - including a Mosin-Nagant, K31, K98k, Enfields, and FN FAL.
I grew up shooting a No. 4 Enfield across the plains of the central US. There are several books you can read on the subject, I recommend starting with 'Boston's Gun Bible.'
A Draganov action and PSG1 (AK based) action are not the same. Cool concept, but why not stick with a proven weapon like the M-14? its semi auto, powerful, and accurate. There are also AR based rifles chambered in 6.8 Rem. SPC and .308 for close to the same price.
@residentevil4freek Once upon a time 2 guys at a gun range were shooting, one a semi-auto rifle, the other a bolt action sniper rifle. Then one of them thinks: HOLY SHIT! WHAT IF SOMEONE MADE A SEMI-AUTO SNIPER RIFLE?
so they basically built a dragonov hahaha anyone else notice that the dragonov has the ak design like most russian rifles do even the soga has a ak design its like a ak shot gun granted the barrel on this weapon probably was nicer then a dragonovs barrel and it probably is still shooting the 7.62 39 but still its not any differnt then a dragonov
@Bluetiger457 well considering its a cheaply mad rifle very inaccurate. i personally do not own one but i have a friend who has 3 and after 750 yards NO one at our gun club or hunting club can hit anything with them. and we do have an ex army marksman in our little group and he gets mad and picks up his Remington 700 and makes the shot all day!

i could go on a rant about this loophole they used, but its simple thats a .308 (7.61x51mm NATO) saiga. The .308 is a do-able round for those distances. However if this was done with a true AK (7.62x39mm) would not make it out to those distances
MC1796 5 months ago
the 7.62x39mm is not a 1000 yard bullet. Sure it could work, but a heavier, longer, sleeker bullet is so much more effective.
labartic 5 months ago
@labartic
You are right, but they did certainly extend the effective range of an AK.
Typical AK carbine, muzzle velocity is slow due to the short barrel, lot of bullet drop, terrible sights, and not very accurate for several reasons.
They increased the muzzle velocity, increased the accuracy, and increased the weight (by more than two pounds?).
Good job, they did what they set out to do!
