  • what a bunch of pathetic reactions....how just a little interview where nobody knows what really happened..can lead to such stupid discussions...tragic that people put so much time in this....I'm moving on!

  • I met Gino at a sound check at the Addison Jazz Festival in in Addison, Texas (Dallas suburb) sometime in the late 90s. He was somewhat quiet and didn't elaborate when speaking with me. Perhaps he just wanted me to go away. Being a lifelong musician and being pretty adept and knowledgeable in music theory, especially jazz theory, I am sure there would have been a lot to talk about, but I suppose he felt he was above a little ol' fan like me trying to converse with the "star." Oh, well...

  • Gino ROCKS!

  • Hey nightwalker225 your life must be very sad and poor to wast your time in such stupid out of context posts... You're still living in the 20th century. Please, evolve!

  • I THOUGHT HE WAS LIVING IN PORTLAND...???

  • Post the whole interview. I'd like to know what this great artist is talking about.

  • He doesn't live here (or in Canada) anymore! He now lives in Holland. I suppose the US and Canada aren't good enough for him. Just like everything else in this country, it's gone overseas. Even Tina Turner makes her home in Paris. That's really giving thanks to the people who made your career--move far away from them! Our country is being flooded with Eastern Indians, so that they can multiply like flies and take over this country. They already are overpopulated in India, now come here!

  • @Telstar2Nite

Gino can afford to live in Holland where breakfast fir three in a restaurant runs about 80 bucks and shoes START at 200. EVERYONE smokes and all the women ride bikes because the family can only afford one car and as soon as they marry they chop their hair at the ears so they don't have to mess with it anymore. DON'T ROMANTICIZE PLACES YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN (Or only vacationed in). I HATED the 5 years I spent in Holland and so did every other American I met there.

  • Hey Rubber Wilbur....that's hilarious

  • He he...Gino was a guest in Swedish TV some time ago. The first thing the TV-guy asked was "how come you posed with your hairy breast and open shirt on the record-cover"...Gino looked like to just fall out of the sky...and I felt ashamed.

I truly believe Gino is the reincarnation of Paganini or Beethoven or some other guy of that sort.

Gino is just to good for average people.

  • Well maybe he should stop living inside his shell.

  • So far above and beyond with his talent that the 'average Joe American' can neither appreciate nor relate to it. Gotta keep it to a few basic chords and a 4/4 beat for the masses to grasp it.

You won't hear the mainstream meat and potato music from Gino.

So many simple minded Americans out there that give the few a bad name.

USA - land of the 'fee' and home of the 'slave' !

  • you tell 'em Gino.

  • I HAVE POSTED THE ENTIRE VIDEO OF THIS DOCUMENTARY. LOOK UP "GINO VANNELLI "MAN ALIVE" DOCUMENTARY!" AND ENJOY!!

  • I have this video which is actually buried in between 2 others on a gino boot dvd. I will need to split the video out with a video software program and then I can upload (wit the help of my kids) the portion of this video. It may take a littel bit, but I respect your feelings and wants to share more of Gino. My wife and I saw him for the first time on his "A Good Thing" show in Vegas last year. Magical. Hang in there and I'll begin working on this. Peace!

  • God's not going to show his face to someone with that attitude. You have to really suffer hardships and come to terms you're nothing. Gino has too large an ego for that. God only shows himself through subtleness, not knocking you out by coming into the room to show you his face when you demand it. LOL!

  • @studiosinger Wow, so true! I concur!

  • Comment removed

  • I believe this was in response to being turned down by LADY GAGA!

  • Where did this come from?

  • Ok This explains it..

Ok here it is. I have a boot video of Gino's life. When Gino disapeared off the map in the 90's. He traveled the world looking for the meaning of life. In this video he is telling his story when he went to Machu Pichu and this about him talking to GOD. The video is fantastic. All kinds of real intimate Gino. This is honestly what this is about.

  • quien es nightwalker222fuchi???? tendencioso y envidioso. Esto está fuera de contexto. Gino es Grande y talentoso.

    Me encanta.

  • I don't know who Gino is talking to, and I don't care, all I can say is Right On, Gino, you can say and do what ever you like, you are my hero, always and forever, I love all your music, I love your dreamy, handsome face, you have a voice that was sent straight from God to touch our hearts.

So much love to you Gino now and always

  • If you wanna know what Gino thinks read the lyrics to his songs or listen to an unedited interview. He's warm as a tear and as kind as prayer.

  • A friggen men

  • I believe someone blackballed Gino as he is fantastic and someone was out to get him. His star should have risen far higher- he is a fantastic singer, song-writer with his brother, and something must have happened!

  • @pollyrom1 There are a handful of people who can give Donald Fagen a run for his money in the elegant jazz/rock with a singer category. Gino Vannelli and Boz Scaggs come to mind immediately. The problem is that a subtle melody and sophisticated harmonies can be too much for a non-musician audience.

  • @Modes9 in a world of Sampling drum machines and digital loops its just too much for todays genral dumb ed down audience. Jazz crowd is more accepted

too bad music went more simple over the years.NOw hits are crafted with a laptop and a pair of head phones and some guy in his low rent appartment. Go figure.

  • @Modes9 - That's exactly right. It was a tough sell of Gino's style of music to the masses. Only a sophisticated audience could really go for it. It didn't stand much of a chance.

  • Is this part of his movie ? or soup opera ?

  • Totally and completely out of context....pretty unfair to not post the whole thing.

  • That does seem way out of context, we don't know who or even what he's talking about.

  • I thought the same thing - what is the context?

  • Post the rest of the interview!

  • Okay, whats going on? LOL

  • great editing! hahaha

  • It is a great disservice to this great entertainer to not show what or who the hell he was talking about.

  • I agree with banoboman. Set up the interview with a topic at least.

  • It seems like he was describing a part of his life that has happened in the past................

  • obviously taken out of contextm like part of "He acts as if ...(fill in strange cropped little soundbyte here)"

  • I agree totally and say what you have to say and fuck what other people think!!!!

  • yes!

  • stil in love !!

  • For offkiltr: "Dago"? In case you're not aware of it, that is just as offensive to Italian Americans as the "N" word is to African Americans. The guy sounds like a jerk without much intelligence, and I think we can agree that people like that span every ethnic pursuasion.

  • offkiltr--You are so stupid and ignorant it's almost funny...But not quite.

  • But no where near as stupid& ignorant as the missing links that brought you into this world, there lies the real tragedy. But let's not digress, where does Gino figure in all this vitriol?

  • For everyone here, excuse me but this clip is taken out of context. Gino was talking in a larger sense about his spiritual journey and how he got to a point where he felt so down and out, he shouted at God..Listen to it again with that as your context and see if he's sounds like a "tough guy". Don't take all of this at face value. Investigate before making stupid comments

  • WOOH-WOOH...Yer way offkiltr with those comments.Obviously you have'nt been keeping up with current events here.Just read some of the reply's.Gino will find you, kill you then eat you...Seriously...

  • Coming from a guy with fiend as his moniker speaks volumes. Sounds like you're trying to project your Gino Vanelli homoerotic/cannabalistic fantasy on someone. You failed Gump.

  • Brother, you're such an angry little man and so not funny...yes

And offkiltr projects penis envy.Does'nt he!

Don't Let The Devil Get You Down

  • Your Wife & Mother have no complaints...

  • wow...and he's original...i can't want to see your comeback when you finally reach the age of thirteen, you pathetic little loser : )

  • Your fascination w/teenage boys musnt been satiated w/the fla teeny snuff film, so you seek other outlets. Take your Gump pederast deviance somewhere else. Keep in mind JAGOFF, you started this nonsense.

  • I'm sorry,Douchebag says what?

  • Seria bueno que mostraran esa entrevista completa...Si Gino realmente se encontraba enojado, hasta en esa circunstancia es dulce.

  • Wish I could have seen this statement in its full context. I wonder what this was all about.

  • What is this REALLY all about?? Damn Gino, get out the prozac...

  • What happened? He looks so different. Not sure why he'd say life sucks when he's had better opportunities than most.

  • I'd stay out of this guy's way if I were you.

Don't let him fool ya with all that mr.sensitive stuff.I saw the man down a half-

bottle of whiskey in a couple chug's then preceed to kick the s#*? out of two big black bouncers who were asking him where MaMa CoCo was...

  • OMG LOL ok guys, knock it off

  • I saw this interview when it was first broadcast ... it was shot in the Vatican private apartments and is part of a discussion between Gino and Pope John Paul II ... JPII's response might not be suitable for Youtube, but let me assure you he put Gino in his place!

  • Does anyone know where Gino was when Bruce Lee died? Coincidence? Maybe. Or he could have ripped his heart out and then forced the authorities to say that he had died of natural causes.

Oh yeah - he shot Brandon Lee too.

  • From the sound of things Gino Vannelli is speaking of a spiritual resentment as opposed to a human one. As for all these stories of Gino beating up reporters and such it doesn't quite sound like the man of character and integrity I've heard about over the years. From his music his emotionalism tends towards the protective (as in "Jack Miraculous") rather then towards hostility.Just my two cents.

  • Bro,we're just trying to give a heads up to people who don't know the OTHER side of Gino.

No one was seen hide or hair of his two brothers Ross or Joe in Twenty years...This guy will take a plug out of your forehead!

  • I saw Gino kickin' the shit out of some prick on the street one day. Left the guy for dead right there on the sidewalk. I rolled the guy over, face up. It was Chuck Norris. I shit you not. Oh yeah - Gino pissed all over his head before he left. The man is hardcore.

  • Wow, you saw Gino Vanelli kick the shit out of Chuck Norris? I guess singing also means that you can beat the crap out of one of the best martial art teachers in the world? I want to know more about your chance encounter..

  • Saw Gino Vanelli on the street one time. Guy walking past bumped his shoulder, kinda looked like he was meaning to do it, trying to be a big shot. Gino turned around and calmly punched him right through a brick wall. Not into. THROUGH. Tipped his hat to the guy's lady friend, though.

  • his album brother 2 brother is the best i've ever album, never got the credit it deserved, the production is just outta this world, far better than quincy jones with thriller

  • Mother Theresa basically said the same thing.

  • That's Gino Vaneli? This couldn't be 1995. He was 43 years old there and the dude looks 36 years old. He's a great singer. He should have gotten as much credit as Micheal Jackson, Madonna, Prince, and Rod Stewart. Great stuff.

  • I agree. My mom turned me on to Gino Vanelli in the late 70's when I was about 11. I just turned 40. I grew up in Compton in my early days, listening to him like I grew up listening to MJ, Prince, Madonna, and Rod Stewart

  • I think this is the time Gino ordered beef lo mein at a Chinese restaurant, but the kitchen gave him veal lo mein and wouldn't own up to it. Gino, in his famous, fair yet firm delivery, demanded to see the chef, who refused to come to his table. Gino thereupon dumped the plate of lo mein face down on the white linen table cloth and recited the quoted dialogue about the chef "not having the balls to come face to face with him," at the table.

I think this is what happened.

    Sincerely,

    The LDO

  • LMAO

  • Do you know where I could find a copy of this interview? Thank You...

  • This is taken out of extreme context... why didn't you post the rest of this, or a little before?? You took this out of context and totally destroyed the meaning of what he was saying

  • That was my intention.

  • Gino...could this be you? If so. I am a vocalist who(expession to date me)has totally dug you since I was a teenager(bet you get alot of that)...I am a vocalist who has yearned for so long to sing with you. You were before your ime,you have not recieved the recognition that a talent like yours deserves...people don't know..they are so dumbed down...

  • Dearest lostdiva77...could this be YOU?

Hi,this is Gino and I just wanna stop, cause I can't live in this world without love, without

    you-Oooohhhhwoooooh!

  • 'kenferry' was correct. This clip, taken on its own, doesn't explain what event Vanelli was referring to. Why would confusing viewers be your intention? That makes no sense. Fortunately, others commenting here have filled in the blanks.

  • @nightwalker225 He's an ego maniac with marginal skills.

  • thanks

  • Ok here it is.

  • You got it!

  • Any way you could post your "boot video" of this interview with Gino. We would all love to see it. Please.....

  • @forgetaboutit55 How about posting the video you referred to -- all us Gino fans would love to see it and be very appreciative. K in LA

  • According to what a friend of mine e-mailed me, Gino was in a horse riding accident some years ago which caused him to have x-rays, etc. During his time at the hospital, a reporter approached him for an interview. At that point, Gino fired back at the ridiculous question. It appears that the reporter was looking for sensation instead of a story. Gino should've instead slapped the reporter/interviewer right in the face and tell him to F**K off!.

  • LOL. Good story, but not true.

  • Oooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh, sounds like Gino's about to put the smack down on somebody.

  • Come on...what's the story on this? I like hearing Gino talk straight up... very refreshing and sort of an inside clue to the real man....AWESOME...

  • SHOW ME YOUR FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's Too great

  • Gino want fight with who?? i am with Gino my brother.

  • What the hell is all this about??? There's got to be a story behind this.

  • ok...what's the story here?
