With GT it would be close. The Foxbody 5.0's could supposedly run mid 13's at the 1/4 but than again the '99 Firebird Formula could "supposedly" run mid 13's but was tested at 14.6. I'd give low 14's at best for both of them.

@RAM9119 Actually the Formula's list is basically a few bolt-on mods. Even stock, the Formula should win. Stock for stock, the LS1 F-body puts down 20-25 more horsepower to the rear wheels. Those dang LS1's always were underrated & almost put out their rated crank HP to the wheels. The LS1 is simply a badass engine built for power. I'm not bias, I own a Mustang & Mustang website "Mustang-Town(dot)com" just stating facts from my experience with these cars. We test them with G-Techs all the time.
@NedacFilms Ls1 are way under rated my buddy got a 99 camaro just bolt heads and x pipe made 360 to the rear wheels cars are wicked... but the same motor was used in the vettes i believe the claimed around 405 correct me if i am wrong nothing really was different maybe the air lid..

@joshrm250 nice t/a on your page, but your facts about the ls1 are not right. the base ls1 was used in 97+c5 vettes 98+f-bodies. but its the z06 (ls6) that was rated at 405 (the early z06s were actually 385) your friends 99 was a base ls1 not a ls6. also the ws6 (pontiac) and ss (chevy) does have more hp then the standard z28 or t/a, but not by much it was mainly appearence. some 02 t/as and camaros did have ls6 intake etc. but none before. i love the f-bodies have 2... kind of a f-body nerd lol

well hate to burst your bubble, but if you've heard of the 427R mustang then you know it and the new 5.0 are virtually the same car. the 427R was only able to run a 13.1 1/4 mile with over 400hp. thats very sad considering my ws6 ran that when it was stock. mustangs are notorious for boasting high hp numbers w/o having the chassis and suspension to back them up. so i dont think new-Camaro owners have anything to fear from this so-called beastly 5.0.....

That LSBang had 3.73 gears and a host of other goodies compared to a Stang that was probably still breakin' in and def not a good driver- No pun intended!

Must not have read the discription fully and maybe alc. It just didn't look like the mustang was racing and I thought they were fast but haven't raced any yet. The stall isn't gonna help from a roll unless it's only about 5mph but the rest..... LS seris are serious when modded. Here is the vid to prove it!

@rockurworld99 you may think your firebird is "the boss" but there is nothing "boss" about a emissions choked 185 hp 400. there are vans that out handle those cars. the brakes are horrible as well. way too small for such a heavy vehicle. please post a video of your "boss" firebird.

@RAM9119 Actually the Formula's list is basically a few bolt-on mods. Even stock, the Formula should win. Stock for stock, the LS1 F-body puts down 20-25 more horsepower to the rear wheels. Those dang LS1's always were underrated & almost put out their rated crank HP to the wheels. The LS1 is simply a badass engine built for power. I'm not bias, I own a Mustang & Mustang website "Mustang-Town(dot)com" just stating facts from my experience with these cars. We test them with G-Techs all the time.

@joshrm250 nice t/a on your page, but your facts about the ls1 are not right. the base ls1 was used in 97+c5 vettes 98+f-bodies. but its the z06 (ls6) that was rated at 405 (the early z06s were actually 385) your friends 99 was a base ls1 not a ls6. also the ws6 (pontiac) and ss (chevy) does have more hp then the standard z28 or t/a, but not by much it was mainly appearence. some 02 t/as and camaros did have ls6 intake etc. but none before. i love the f-bodies have 2... kind of a f-body nerd lol

well hate to burst your bubble, but if you've heard of the 427R mustang then you know it and the new 5.0 are virtually the same car. the 427R was only able to run a 13.1 1/4 mile with over 400hp. thats very sad considering my ws6 ran that when it was stock. mustangs are notorious for boasting high hp numbers w/o having the chassis and suspension to back them up. so i dont think new-Camaro owners have anything to fear from this so-called beastly 5.0.....
