@TheManmek - this car would be prohibitively expensive to make today. The technologies certainly have improved, but look at Veyron, twice the money and 15 years has not gotten us far. I think the F1 is just one of those things that just worked out. You couldn't plan for this, even Mr Murray...but holy mackerel they made the greatest car ever made!

Tiff, Vicky & Jeremy Clarkson, all used to be on top gear. Don't know why they bust up, but probably tiff and Jeremy fighting as Clarkson is a bit of a knxb, and tiff can get a bit stroppy, Any way 5 gear ( which is the top gear on most cars ) came out on channel 5 with tiff and Vicky, and top gear continued after a couple of years back on the BBC with its current format. 5 gear is more like how the old top gear was but without the talentless jeremy :-) lol. @iXetsuei There was no bust up. Jeremy had already left TG a few years before and the BBC axed Top Gear. Channel 5 started their own car show and got all TG's presenters. Couple of years later Clarkson and TG's current producer (they're old school friends aswell) decided to produce the programme themselves

@colbail Tiff and JC didn't fight and they are good buddies even today. The truth is the old Top Gear wasn't doing well enough so it got slated, and Tiff and Vicky left to do 5th gear. Later JC picked up Top Gear and transformed it into its current popular form.

@colbail incorrect. The simple reason is old top gear struggled with viewership numbers and was axed because of it. Jeremy and Tiff are in fact very good friends and regularly invite eachother if they makes special shows of their own.

It's a shame, proper motoring shows like old top gear simply can not get the numbers required to survive. I'm just happy that I had it when I was a teenager in the 90s: things really did use to be better from my perspective ;)

BBC cancelled Top Gear in its old format due to failing viewer ratings. Clarkson lobbyed hard to use the same name for a car based entertainment show, whereas Tiff wanted to continue a more factual approach. Luckily they had more luck with both of the new programmes than old Top Gear was at the end.

There's been friendly banter between them from day one, but their many cooperations over the years should prove their mutual respect for eachothers work.

@fwak822 I do see you're point, but the bugatti does have luxury leather seats, heated as well, carpets, radio, cd, ac and another +400kgs of equipment (ABD and TCM as well). All that weight need more power to get it going.

The F1 is a raw bare boned techno masterpiece, the veyron is a luxury concord.
