Unfortunately the baby will grow up fairly weak since it has no milk to feed on and is crucial to building an immune system (colostrum especially). It seems to know what it needs to do to survive though, drink water and such. It'll probably stick close by to that bull though or the bull will stick to it. So beautiful. <3

Yes, it will quench it's thirst, but like every other mammal at that age, it won't be able to get the nutrients it needs without milk. @TrollGang An elephant calf is going to *starve* to death without milk. Everything that the calf needs to grow, and to feed its body is in its mother's milk. Not to mention all of the antibodies that are in the milk that will help the calf fight off disease. If a predator doesn't get to the calf because of how weak it will become, its body will start feeding off of itself, and it *will* shrivel up and die. There is a reason that mammals make milk for their young.
