I always hated to see Amtrak on the C&NW the train was half empty because half the passengers had to be put on buses. They were going to Burlington points. The Amtrak crew was dead under the hours of service.(Overtime) Train was run very very late with freight engines because of the ATC. At freight speeds. It's a very costly thing for Amtrak. And the C&NW service was terrible. The C&NW made you keep the passenger engines on the line. With electric blended braking no one knew how to use.
@ma7799 It's got to be in the 1970's because one shot of Story Street Boone (named for judge Story) it you can bare see, the old freight house that sat there. Where today's offices for the UP are. I know the freight house yard downtown Boone was there the first time I was there in 1973

The shot of the Amtrak train is likely July, 1981, because the SAN FRANCISCO ZEPHYR had to detour over the C&NW due to flooding in Iowa.
