  • i love my 1D but rush limbaugh playing in the background? c'mon man.

  • I just bought a used canon 1ds and I really love compare to my canon 40d... The one 1ds is step higher than 1d... 1ds has 11.1 megapickels lol and 1d has only 4mp...

  • 1D classic still rocks!

  • whats better canon eos 1-d or a nikon d90?

  • d90.

1d is too old. 1d mark II or III is different story, but the 1d has only 4 megapixels. you do get sharp images, though. but if you are undecided, go for the d90 or buy a 1d mark II.

  • I'm sorry but I happen to have a 1D and 1Dmk2.

why would you need a 1/500 secs xsync?

and a 1/16000? that's because of the old chip. now with the CMOS you don't get that speed. but do you really need it?

IMO, no, you don't. 1/8000 is fast enought for almost everything.

I do strobist work and if I need faster sync with my PW I shoot at 1/16 in total dark, wich is just like 1/8000.

the 1Dmk2 has a 1/300 sync and no pro I have ever worked with cries like a baby for that.

    gimme a break!

  • @ProfetaParanoia I used it for shooting skate/snowboarding to sync flashes in broad daylight.

  • well 1D classic is still a king. 4mpix is not much but hey, check out what Sigma SD14 uses ^^. And u cant really compare a D90 to a pro body.

Basic rule: Its not the camera, its the photographer!

  • why can't they be compared?

sure they can: noise performance, sharpness, sensor, and so on.

1D is a beast, it's cool and all. it's a "pro" body and feels like one, but I've seen great shots taken with a 300D. so what are you paying here? the body? the construction? megapixels? funcions?

1D is nice, but too noisy and way-too-sharp. the 4mpx may not seem like a big deal, but they are. you can't make a crop without a HUGE quality loss. simple as that. :(

  • Well, I didnt say that I own one.. I'd say the construction and body if I bought it. The ISO Technology is a bit old. But I only use like ISO 50-640 only (there isnt going to be much noise for low ISO). 4mpix isnt that big of a deal, but mpix isnt that important anyway its the sensor size that counts.

  • agree. sensor size counts big time...

but, again, images taken with a 1D cannot be cropped without a huge quality loss.

for a regular user (who never prints its pictures and don't have much knowledge of picture editing) a 1D is more than enough, but if you're going "pro", it feels nice but outdated, compared to a D90.

  • @ProfetaParanoia this person is a very self conceited and talkative person

  • ...why did you erased your comment?

...and why posting this after two months?

    I don't get it. really.

  • I'd Say 1D (wow 8 months ago, Im late then)

  • Yeah right!!!
