Much respect to runners, I am one myself. But I just don't care for the runners look.... too skinny and minimal muscle size. I work out at least four times a week with weights and it keeps muscle on my frame. Don't care to have spaghetti arms and shoulders like an 11 year old.
I agree... but weight training is also unhealthy and it doesn't really add to your strenght or makes you better at sports. it makes you all rigid and bulky. i am running but I'd like to start swimming because of the same reason.
u really don't know ultramarathon runners, do u? let me guess, a football player who thinks he's the shnizz, rite? well...I'm an ultramarathon runner AND in my university's powerlifting team so don't go assuming just because your school's track team's all skinny you can assume every runner is, ok? Actually, just google David Goggins and then just cry, because you'll never, ever, ever be able to imagine the physical and mental training people like he and I go through. Go take your creatine
actually, you made me quite happy with David Goggins. at least now i know that you can be a runner and look good too. I love running but I admit that I am no expert nor do I really know the scene. I pretty much just looked at the african marathon winners and runners. But I also found some ironman winners who have the "this is sparta" body-type.
however, weight training does not make you stronger... it lets you lift more weight but your agility and "usable force" suffers. maybe you can do it more properly and don't have the same problems but for me chinups and elevated pushups proved to be much more effective sofar. and the arms grow much faster too ;) maybe I'll try it later. however, I'm rather contempt to find the time to run and workout at all ;)

@SVKmellow Yo man, so true. Too many eccentric runners that have weird personalities. Goggins makes it cool and about bringing the pain.
