ONE IMPORTANT THING!

If you want portrait mode you need to CLOSE YOUR KEYBOARD after you have hold ctrl+shift+o or tapped the top of the screen options>setting>enable rotation.

just go on settings, allow rotate view, then it will change when you hold it portrait.

IF IT'S NOR WORKING with CTRL+ SHIFT+O THEN WHILE A PAGE IS LOADING CLICK ON THE TOP AND SELECT "OPTIONS" > "SETTINGS> ENABLE ROTATION AND IT SHOULD WORK. CHEERS!!!

same problem, but i know it´s for the firmware... what i meant is: does anybody knows if my n900 coul be blocked for updating the firmware (i live in Mexico, but i brought it imported from europe) i read a guy from england updated and no problem, but when i brought it the store an employee told me that if i updated there could be a chance it get blocked, but they say that on all the devices they sell someone please :)

Blive it or not today i done without Known how , the phone was on the table i tried to reach to it and my fingers touched the keypad somewhere then the screen changed to Portrait Mode, i start googleing to find out how . but no result and here this video came in time.

@nooxyy If you go to your setting --> textinput (i think thats what its called in english) then enable on screen keyboard.

If you want to use it, close your n900 and click on the box where you want to type.. (like the guy in this video)

Well, just first off make sure you have the update. Then go to google for example. At the same time press down for about 2 secs. Ctrl shift O

Do you need the latest firmware for this to work? I tried to dl the new firmware this morning, but it was 90MBs and said it needed to be installed via usb cable and from desktop. A shame I'm at work now w/o the cable.

really? advantages of the n900: -keyboard -better resolution -changeable battery -multitasking -camera -front camera -skype is fully integrated (not an app) -open source -flash and much more..

@AAWien front camera isnt actually supported yet i dont think.. well you cant use it for taking pictures anyway. gay it doesnt even support mms :(
