Hi great vid!!! i have a question though, i just bought the Gr20 and i wanna use it with my Bass Guitar.i want my bass guitar to sound like a tuba, I have the gk-3b pick with my ibanez 6 string bass, but for some reason i cant get this to work right, it plays the sound but not presicesly, like some strings it doesnt get them it doesnt pick them up quite well then also the sound is also delayed like i play the note and the sound comes out a bit after can anyone help me???
Dude! I enjoy and inspire by your video,i'm in a band situation that suits this style of playing,I play a 7-string bass so I play alot of chords, your playing has help me very much thank you!
I was playing this technique on 4 string bass and I found that It works on chords having a root on 4th string and a tension on 1st-2nd string. If chords built from open string (such as Em A7), It's so comforted to use this technique. However, I have been using harmonic to increase the wide length of the sound for the 4 string bass. For the 5 string bass, I'd like to say "yes", you can use this technique on it.
You can use Gr-20 for your 4 string bass and play J-Rock style by choosing the appropriate sound like String, Synthesizer, etc. Once I used "string" sound to supplant the keyboard for playing X Japan ballad song. (I'm sorry If I misunderstand that you play J rock style)
Very cool lesson, and demo, Golfybass!
I really enjoy your creativity in your bass playing. Covering many areas.
I can for sure see how the 6 string is very useful. :)
