How come the rebels have an Imperial shuttle in all of the escort/evacuation missions? They hijacked one back in the day and decided to get all the mileage they could out of it, huh? Was it lazyness on the dev's part?

I just started playing this again on my win7 64bit after a lot of work to get the game to install properly, and do I say playing it with my xbox controller using pinnacle game profiler to set up the controls is such a blast from the past. And it's all about cockpit view. ;)

For PC versions the box and cd says "3D" at the end. I don't know either, I just copied what was there.

@goldleaderone because this was when games where going from 2D to 3D. The graphics have 3 dimensions. If you look at classic games such as mario, duke nukem, and doom, there arent 3 dimensions to the graphics in the games.

People take 3D way to seriously these days. 3D seems to now mean to "pop out of the screen" But to appear to have 3 dimensions, it does not need to pop out of the screen.

@thehalowarthog It used a very premitive "3d" accelerator. Back then, most graphic cards did not have one, so it was sort of a big thing. Now most graphic cards have them.

There's no workaround that I can find. LucasArts also said they didn't have a solution. I would look on the internet for a different version.

I got this game when I was 8. I got to the Beggar's Canyon Race. This and X-wing Alliance was my favorite games. The only bad thing about Rogue Squadron is that it doesn't work on new computers. It will not work on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit because of a hardware abstraction layer problem. But most old games won't work with 64 bit OS.

I got XWA to work on my Windows 7 64 bit system but I got a problem that makes the game unplayable, the background "bleeds" into the objects textures, by moving my ship the background starts to invade the other textures (I don't know how to describe it). In one of the later missions, you encounter the 128th TIE Interceptor Squadron. Kasan Moore, a member of that squadron, is disabled by a Y-Wing and later defects and joins Rogue Squadron. I read on wookiepedia she donated her Interceptor to the Alliance.
