now i would realy like to know if that saddel is to far back i dont know anything about that breed but rocky mountain horse looks good to me and since i have a very bad back and neck from 40 years of construction(tile setter) i like to know if there is a breeder in az yhx eric az
It looks like the whole saddle has slid back. Gates horses are hard to fit because of all the shoulder and shoulder movement they have. I bought a gaited tree saddle and finally found one that stays where it is supposed to, lol.
TheWolke205 I don't know who you are but you need to get a live and stay out of everyone elses. GOD! What is your name. I'm sure you have a training book or two out there that we could all learn from. Put up or shut up!!!
actually amyhaneycreel, the rocky mountain was created from the Kentucky Mountain, not the other way around as you had it. Just a small correction. Both are great breeds, but the Kentucky Mountain is the older of the two breeds.
the coloring is called liver-flax as the dark coat is liver and the mane (which can be from blond to shock white) flax. this color pops up sometimes in arabians but its a characteristic of the kentucky mountain saddle horse and especially the rocky mountain horse from which the former was created. the one foundation sire of the breed, 'Old Toby,' had this coloring and had stamped the whole lineage with it. its breath taking.
what a beautiful horse! i love the flaxen man and tail. my kentucky mountain gelding is the love of me life too. he is a blue back, so sweet, incredibly smart and loving. i have had him three wonderful months.

Hmm... I don't know much about endurance or Australian saddles... but it looks like the girth is a bit far back. really pretty chocolate, btw.

@orangerocks3 it's actually the preferred color of the rocky mountain, chocolate with a flaxen mane and tail, a lot of people call them bay- silvers
