Amazing performance by some of the most talented musicians on the planet. And yes, the album this song is on, 'In A Perfect World' is mind blowing.
I had the pleasure of seeing a very similar iteration of this band in Phoenix (Jeff Sipe on drums). They were opening for Bruce Hornsby...I was so blown out by what I had seen that I didn't stay for even half of Bruce (although he sounded great that night)...I couldn't even wrap my brain around it...amazing.
Saw these guys right after Col. Bruce parted ways with them. "Mamakin's" in Boston, MA, circa '96-'97. those years are kinda a blur...But that show was AWESOME!!! Gibb Droll opened up. cool lineup.
They just completely tore this up. Everything about this song is talent. When the song kicks in from the intro it's just one of those "holy shit" moments.
I found out about these guys 15+yrs ago, and saw em live 10 yrs ago...Now their bass player (O'teil Burbridge) is playing for the Allman Brothers. Saw him with them back in 2007...
These guys kill. I had heard the band name before but this is the first time I've heard them play. I was expecting something like The Grateful Dead but they are more like Mahavishnu Orchestra. I'm impressed.
groovy shit

For those who prefer their music performed by musicians rather than machines, dancers, or pinups.

Drummer is the source here. He gives the ground to the rest, the beat, the space, the move.
About guitar licks? you need reasons, if you don't have any, there is nothing to play except fooling around

They need Buckethead on guitar. And it does look like Ozzie doesn't it? I doubt Ozzie could lift the sticks that high.
