Looks an awful lot like an Australian funnel web spider, and spins a web just like one, which is the main way of spotting it. (deadliest venom in the world) I wouldn't go near it again If I were you.

We had this huge spider that lived outside our family room window for a few months. She had egg sacks everywhere. I found out the thing was actually an Australian species, unheard of in this area. How cool is that? It was similar to a banana spider. I named her Priscilla :)
