Pilot is ok , video is very nicely edited tho , i much prefer the blaster ranis myself , as for what he is doing a crow would be more effective tbh if alot more boring , crow needs faction ammo tho but most t1 cruisers and Af's die to em unless they have a 100% runnable tank :D
seeing as that kestrel at the end got a few good missles on him, a caracal with assault missles has a good chance of beating it no? specially a tanked caracal....

Epic fail. Your Taranis lacks blasters, and a web. what you have there is a galente ship pretending to be caldari.
Real men structure tank. at 2-3X speed it took you almost a minute or two to kill a fucking destroyer! It should take that long for you to kill a cruiser.
A taranis with blasters, solo, would get wtfowned so quickly by one of my simple disposarax's it's not even funny. Nitra fit his ship well for what he was looking to do.

A rail ranis has only a hand full of targets it can solo, and a THORAX is not one of them.
Admitedly, what you say is TRUE. This is why you don't solo certain CRUISERS in an interceptor. You can't kill some of the amarrian cruisers (the sniper speced ones) because they will WTFPWN you before you can get to range, REGARDLESS of what fit you use. Blasters on a taranis goes for more then just cruisers, every one of my ships will stop a taranis cold if he came up next to me alone with blasters.
I'm not saying you're wrong about blasters, I'm saying you're wrong about them being the only way.
They ARE the only way, because anything that's going to BBQ a blaster ranis is going to do the EXACT SAME THING to a rail ranis. The issue is that its the slowest interceptor. If you're looking for a survivalbe interceptor for primary tackle, the ranis isn't it. The objective of a ranis is to either win or lose a solo fight. There are only two kinds of fights with one; Fights you win, and fights you die. With that in mind DPS is the only way to fit one. Anything else is a waste of ISK.

I, personally, would fly a taranis with blasters like I fly everything else. But the rails give a taranis a surviability factor that blasters don't. It's more "kill or get away" then "kill or be killed"
If you want kill or get away fly an Ares. They're mostly cheeper, go 2X as fast, and do similar DPS to a rail ranis. They also get point range bonuses.
This was made before the point bonus and the ares's dmg back then sucked (i think it got a buff).
Also your blaster ranis is valid but if im gonna do blasters may as well use a thorax as it has a bigger target scope.
I only take out the rail ranis when i know there are gangs out and about as it takes seconds to get out of point range and that is a needed in a world where everyman and his dog has a alt or two.
If your blaster ranis is webbed its staying there until someones dead...

this game is really cool. BUT it has such a stepp learning curve that it puts people like me off. I hope in future they intruduce a few features that hook the less hardcore gamers in. I tried the trial and got bored of running round doing crappy agent missions for 3 days straight. So i decided to go for it and autopilot to a 0.3 gate, and i got raped shortly after. It was at that point that i thought to myself "F**k THIS". lol
a pirate is someone who tries to get some real value out of his exploits i.e. you get someones ship to the point where its obvious theyve lost, then open a chat "50 mil NOW or you die!!" if they have implants of course they'll pay, if not blow the shit out of em and grab their cargo... but if they do pay you should let them go... its the way of all true pirates

a pirate is a person who intercepts cargo, ships, or items of value and steals them using violence on the high seas. Just killing random people for no economic reward does not make you a pirate, it makes you a petty criminal who's compensating for something in real life.
lol i earnt over 1bill in piracy(including losses) only half of that came from ransoms. The nubs in this video are in dessies and frigs, my e-peen extenders if you will.
btw i am a proper pirate with a proper bounty (131mill before mercs stole it *sad face*). I do attack outnumbered and often larger targets (for ransom or loot), just not in a taranis.

We and my corp once found (by accident) a chimera, which was ratting.
My friend was warping to find some solar fleet ppl, he warped to this belt, and gez what wuz there, lol.
2 mins later we all came and his arse was ours.
(This was in .0 not low sec :D)
He even tried to bribe us, it's so fun to piss off people in EVE, believe me, lol.

A rail-ranis wouldn't pick a fight with a caracal, the ranis would lose, maybe a blaster-ranis, not sure though. I only fly a crow for the moment, ^^

Yeah, it can be a cruel game. You have GOT to get yourself in a corp to really get something out of it though.

i do use them, but i have 'hide passive slots' on. for two reasons
1. it mucks up your interface (during lag ten times more)
2. i wanted to show as little off my setup as possable
