  • I mate, come on the intro is to long. This is stupid, do they teach you this is pre-school. Next do one on using a light on your dj system.

Ask yourself, do you need one?

Next you want to read the instructions on how to turn it on, is it a know or twist?

You will want to know where is the best placement for the light, will you need it for the mixer or maybe for reading papers.

Never have the light close to your eyes as it may burn you lashes.

When shouldI take the light down?

    .

  • @SingJiya Here's a little tip: when providing comment or criticism, make the comment understandable! I get that English may not be your first language, but i don't have a clue what you are trying to say!

  • @SingJiya , means you giving tips on things that are know right when you come out of the womb.

  • @SingJiya. Okay, so YOU know what to do - that's great. There are still plenty of new DJs that didn't come out the womb knowing what to do , so maybe this was more useful for them. Thanks for watching, and for taking the time to comment.

  • Great tips, I always use a fresh set of battery's every time. Batteries are cheap enough that its not worth messing up an important intro or havig the mic cut out on the best man speech. You can always use the old batteries at home or let the kids use them in their gameboys!!!

  • I agree with resting mic on chin. Also if the client needs to use the mic this method is easy to explain and creates less problems with sound adjustments. Some times when you pass the mic to a punter and they hear their own voice, the first thing they do is pull it away...so tell them " rest it on your chin" Cheers!

  • wosrt thing if somebody uses it and drops it

  • You never cup the top of the Mic, thats correct. There are various types of Microphones available for different purposes. If you were a singer, the Mic may be slightly different.

  • Nice one dude!! thanks j

  • Good Job, I must do some more sensible Videos...I still have my first decent mic from 20 years ago..Audio Technica Corded its beaten but still sounds good, I just use a Shure PG.58 with a Shure PG.48 as secondary or back up. To be honest i think the 48 sounds crisper..its much cheaper. Cordless is something i must get into again had a cheap one but that has given the ghost, must get my act into gear! trouble is since I decided to update it seems never ending! keep them coming! rgds jason

  • good tip i was thinking about mic's

  • i like that last part.. ArhWwhwwerrruurr..hehehe. good tip!

  • Good vid and tip! I would also add that you need to pay attention to the different types of mics out there when you purchase one. DJ's generally don't want an omnidirectional mic, as it will pick up everything, including your voice coming from the speakers = feedback. Omnidirectional mics tend to cause a lot of feedback, look into unidirectional style or cardiod or super cardioid mics.

  • Good point, thanks for the extra information, bud.

  • I use a sennheiser wireless and it dose a pretty good job at being clear , plus I have 1440 channels so I always have a clear channel.

  • It just shows that paying a little extra for quality pays off. My AT mic also has multiple channels, so there won't be any interference from DJs in other parts of a venue, taxicabs etc.

Thanks for the comment and for watching.

  • I'm still using my cordless audio technica mic from 15+ yrs. ago. It takes a 9volt battery. Still works great! Looks like you have the newer version & probably a lot more channels. Good tip Al!

  • I didn't know that there was a wireless mic that was powered by AA batteries...I have always know them to use 9volt batteries...or internal rechargable batteries. Thanks!!! Ya learn something new each day on youtube!!!

  • good tips!!! keep them coming, cause we need them, haha!!! always more to learn in this business.

  • Ahh and away we go with "Al" videos! I knew once you sorted out HOW to do this you would post loads :)

    Great tips, Al!

By the way, anyone watching... Al is ALWAYS Al. No alter ego here (we'll leave that to ChickenMan). This is how he would talk to you in person.

  • I've seen club djs use mics intensely to get the crowd going e.g. put your hands up, we're going old school blah blah. It all depends on your crowd and music genre as well imo of course!

  • Nah, I must be a pro now, huh?
