@Pinkstonnaked Keanu Reeves is Chinese, Hawaiian and English. Dean Cain is Japanese, French Canadian, Irish and Welsh. Chad Michael Murray is Scottish, Japanese and American.
Way to just assume that all of their Asian ancestry is Chinese.
It is really hard for Asian performers to make it in Hollywood. But, I think the portrait of Arabs are even worse in those movies. They're not even portrayed as human.
it may look like that hollywood treat asian females better, but it is more like asian females are easy lays to white males, and making them hate their own race. In actuality, hollywood shatters asian females self-esteem as much as (if not more than) asian males.
Hollywood is much more friendly toward Asian Females than it is toward Asian Males. They always include AM when they need an asexual nerd/geek stereotype.
Yeah, when they're not dragon lady/slut types. They are getting better, though. As for Males I would say Russell Wong and Rick Yune types are doing a lot to break that nerdy image, not to mention all the hot Korean "K-drama" actors. But I don't know how long it will take for Hollywood to catch on.
I notice that most Asian women in Hollywood are portrayed as westernized. They are allowed to speak English and wear the same clothes as their WF counterparts, have normal office-type careers. 90% of AM portrayals are either sushi chef or fortune teller or nerd or old man. AFs are portrayed as 18-32 years old. AMs are usually children or old men, with little in between. 95% of AMs wear glasses. Why are AF portrayed as westernized, but not AMs? I mean, they grow up in the same families.
there are as many asian american actors respected in Hollywood as there are asian MALE porn stars in the America....
