  • This guys head moves way to much and bothers me! twitches

  • Asian ladies online lushfmlk.info

  • Speaking of phone bills...could you live without your cell phone?? You can do so much now on a high tech phone, even access the net!!

  • Yes well i could live without it jax6992, but it would definitely make it a lot harder to keep in touch with them. I guess there was a time when i did live without it!!!

  • I remember how expensive it was when I had to call my family and friends who live overseas and one time my phone bill was like $900 !!! And that too when I was a student! I was so broke for ages trying to pay that bill off! But thanks to skype emails I can actually talk to them for ages without spending a fortune.

  • i know what you mean i remember a student and having a boyfriend who was always abroad in the army my mother was horrified at the phone bill $650 for one month. IT took me almost 6 months to pay them back for that one month. Imagine how much easier it would have been for my mothers heart if i had known about skype or even if it had been around then

  • Long live skype lol!

  • It seems so long ago. Now all we need is cheap mobile calls Europe wide....

  • But Alli do you think you could live with out it?

  • I am also like businesstvrebecca and have a lot of friends and family who live overseas. It is a lot easier to keep up to date with what they are up to with things like facebook.

  • no worries, there some real cool ones. Try writing (mooning) with the brackets around it.. hhehe

  • thanks for that jax6992, I just found some hidden emoticons, very cool

  • I will do that...thanks jax6992

  • If you do a google search for hidden skype emoticons, there are some links to vids that show you the code to use.. some really funny ones! Make sure you find someone that you know quite well on skype to test them out on hahan!

  • Didn't know that, must have a look

  • Where are the hidden emoticons???

  • Yeah skype is great (and free)

  • I love the emoticons too... there are some cool hidden ones in there too!

  • I love skype too...I love the smileys!!!

  • I am one of six children living all round the world and its a great way for us to keep in touch - especially skype

  • Ohhhh emails... thats a tough one! See I could live without facebook if I didn't have emails but ooooh... Well I guess I could cause when I first started work we only had 1 dial up connection that we all had to share between 20 of us! And I didn't have internet at home..

  • Very addictive BusinessExpertsNat. I just love the easy way it keeps you in touch with people. I am a big internet banking fan too. Could anyone live without email??

  • Thanks Andie, yes that does help... I'm not sure if there is anything on the internet that I couldn't survive without... I do like facebook, but I know I can live without it and I love not having to go to the bank to transfer money but again the bank is only 5 mins down the road... hmmm interested to hear what others say???

  • Happy to help :) am interested too to hear what others have to say about this thread?

  • I so know what you mean businessexpertsnat, i find that i am very addicted to it.

  • Facebook...I love it

  • do you find it becomes addictive?

  • Look at the tools available to you already on the internet - what's going to be available in 3-5 years will be amazing! The web is a constantly changing environment with something new being created or placed within the net every minute. I can't even begin to imagine where it will take us in the next 15 - 20 years!

  • Can you explain further Andie??? I'm a little confused? Do you mean the things we use the internet for today, if we didn't have them tomorrow what would we do or???

  • I mean any one thing that you use the internet for today on a constant basis, that you benefit from and would be stuck if you did not have access to the internet and how would you solve it.

Does that answer you query businessexpertsjax ???

  • All my online friends are real life friends not just random people I meet online through social networks. For me, social networking shouldn't replace real life conversations and outings with mates.. In my view convenient means handy, something that is of use when it is there but can certainly live without.. my wants are things that I think I can't live without :)Needs are things that I def can't live without..

  • ok I thought I would start this thread: What is the single most essential thing that you would not be able to live without if you could not access the internet and how would you solve it or rather deal with it ?

  • Is convenient a fancy word for WANT?

  • I rely on technology for everything...especially with a teaching background. The children use technology in the class constantly and love to get involved. For me personally...what would I do if I didn't have social networks????

  • haha it does seem like that andie. In fact wasn't really until the other month when my internet went down for a day that I realised how much I really did rely on the internet.. I think more so for business and as for personal, it is just more so a convenience that a NEED!

  • I agree with you on that one :)

    businessexpertsjax.

  • So businesstvrebecca, does it scare you that you rely on technology that much??

  • Hey

businessexpertsjax and businesstvrebecca I rely on the internet a lot, infact I do just about everything on the internet, apart from getting my hair and nails done and changing my babies nappies but I do know that I would not go crazy if I could not use it for a bit. There is so much more to life than that.

  • I agree with businesstvgeorge, if you took the internet away people would go crazy, I know I would

  • hmmm the online world in ten years.. exciting but also scary I think... does anyone else agree?

  • I agree with businesstvgeorge, i certainly take it for granted and i know a lot of other people do as well.

  • Definetely, I can't really imagine what it would be like not being able to jump online and check my emails or skype with some family and friends on the other side of the world.

  • what about the bottom of the world?

  • I forgot to add this was in reply to businesstvkelsi

  • Of course at the bottom of the world too!

  • The world has certainly become a smaller place today, thanks to the internet. I also agree with Bob that the internet is still a very immature world and there is a lot that remains to be explored.

  • Bob is absolutely right! This is one of the biggest reasons I switched from a marketing background to web design and development. Its exciting to think what the online world will be like in another 10 years.

  • It is amazing to think about how powerful the internet is. I do love it, and I love the fact that I can access it almost anywhere on my iPhone...

  • its amazing how reliant we all are on the internet now, take it away, people would go crazy!

  • Where the internet could go is beyond me but I do think basic human needs will remain the same. Seems a lovely chap that Bob Young

  • Technology is growing so rapidly that i could not even begin to guess what things will be like in 10 years time. Bob is right in saying that the internet is full of opportunity. It makes life a lot easier for me anyway!!!

  • I can't imagine the internet in 10 / 20 years time. Look out!

  • You can already see a merging of tv, music, the internet in the way that entertainment systems are now being created in the home. Everything is beginning to get wired to a central point where you will simply interact, proabably by voice command, with one central computerised point.

  • I agree with Bill...the internet connects everyone together. Compared with business years ago...the internet must create a lot of opportunity to move forward in your business venture.

  • I really like the way Bob talks in plain English about the real world vs the virtual world. It IS pretty amazing that you can talk to 1M people online!

Interesting that this guy was born when TV was invented, and now he's at the forefront of the internet.

  • I agree Businesstvrebecca, there's so much room for the internet to grow, as with anything, in the future, who knows what we will see!

  • The Internet has revolutionized the way we communicate and interact in today's society. Its hard to imagine now, what I would have done without it really!

  • Whats even better is one can keep in touch with their near and dear ones via webcam chats and feel a lot more closer unlike a few years back.

  • It does make you wonder where we will be on the internet in say five or ten years, who would have dreamed we would be at this point ten years

    ago

  • Yeah - you only have to look at where iphones are going and it's clear that in a couple of years we'll all have the internet in our pocket most of the time

  • Just wait for Android mate! Open source google phone is coming. It's those stick in the mud service providers that need some convincing. They're onto a good thing and don't want to give it up!

  • It's interesting to think about the timescales here. In my first office job 12 years ago we got email twice per hour, and every email still had to be hardcopied by mail!

    Yes we were lawyers :-0

Now, I can live in Germany and work with people all over the world - and I probably using Skype Chat more than any other tool. Skype is just about old school!
