I think the independent party should get way more attention that it's currently given(which it should soon as I've heard it's growing rather fast lately) or the party system should be thought over entirely as it pretty much inspires ignorance. I think the parties would do better to recognize they're trying to do what's best for the people(99% of the time) more often, and mudslinging should be more frowned upon. If you believe having a weapon that obliterates land masses is the one and true powerful weapon then you are really behind the times. We have air craft that can shoot down war heads before they even come close to American soil, better weapons such as the vomit gun, vomit sound blaster, microwave gun. We don't need to kill people or destroy large areas of land mass, just make the enemy feel sick enough not to fight (it is cheaper, less material, more effective, and less destructive).

As far as having a strong military, Bush has helped out a lot with weakening it. We are in such a rut now that China is fucking with us and trying to tell our naval vessels that they can't be in natural waters around their country.
