  • if you want to get better at the keyboard, i strongly suggest learning to read music. Learning bach without appreciating his written work is a crime!

  • @thejugglenaut91 How is it a crime...I am just getting into Bach...especially the BWV542 Fugue...I LISTEN to the music...not read the score. I too am learning it..I don't play keyboard...don't read music...but am determined to learn to play at least the same amount as played on this video....part way there. And it is fun. Music should always be fun. :-)

  • I always thought that BWV 543 was the "Great."

  • I just checked. 543 is Prelude and Fugue in A minor and 542 is the "Great" Fantasy & Fugue in G Minor.

  • Wunderbar! ;)

I really like this video! Often youtube-users play the old masters way better than professional musicians (even though these aren't the full fugues) :)

  • Danke :-)

  • I play by ear too and you are much better than I am. My left hand almost never does what I want it to. GREAT JOB!

  • Thanks.

  • What's the top keyboard?

  • Alesis QuadraSynth and it's slaved via MIDI to the Roland so both use the Roland's organ sound.

  • good... i would suggest a picardy 3rd at the end of the little fugue (If you dont know, a picardy 3rd is when a minor piece ends with a major chord... it adds a nice touch...) im playing it with my high school's symphony orchestra and it is a beautiful piece when modified for an orchestra. Among my top 3 favorite composers, behind Beethoveen, and Mozart..

  • very cool man... you're good.

  • Aren't the 700 SX's pipe organ sounds great! They're among my favorites. It would have been so cool if you had made that last chord a major chord. You are very talented.

  • Sounds great. I commend you for learning this the way you did.

    Paul

  • Very nice. Reminded me of when I went to see, and met, Virgil Fox about 1972. I used to play the Little Fugue, pedals and all on a Hammond.

  • Wow, you're great! I can't even describe!I love Bach, and I also like Vivaldi too!I have many favorite composers! How long have you been playing?

  • Thanks. Yeah, Bach and Vivaldi are great. I've been playing for about 15 years.

  • Did you transpose this?

  • Yes, it's transposed to D minor because it sounded too high in G on the pipe organ I was using.

  • molto bene,ti sarebbe possibile inviarmi la partitura di questo brano? ciao

  • Nice!!!!!!! TOo bad I suck playing it. I am not used to play organ. I used to follow Keyboard lessons, :D

  • Haha! A Fellow Bach fanatic! I've got the first 2 or three pages of the Great Fugue in G Minor learned on organ, and I love that song too! lol

I finally have ALL of the the Little Fugue memorized, with the Pedals and all.... its great... lol Post again when you learn more.... =]

    Keep it up man!

  • You're way ahead of me.... I can't play pedals or even read sheet music.

  • Heh, me either. I've learned most of Little Fugue by playing from ear. Fantastic job, btw. Bach is my favorite!

  • First rate. Thanks. Do you have the orchestra SRX board?

  • Nope, just the standard sounds that come with a Roland RD-700SX.
