Uh isn't your hip flexor in the front of your legs, not directly over your hips? good exercises though, even though if a personal trainer doesn't know much about human anatomy it makes me worry about if he really knows what he's doing.
coaches and athletes feel it increases ability to have a long stride, which is associated with good sprinting. so lots of people seem to think yes, try it.

I am appalled by this. This exercise is far too advanced for the average exerciser. There is a large room for error and good potential for injury. Not to mention he points to the incorrect muscle group when referring to hip flexors.
@CoachSore Define "average exerciser." I wouldn't call the elderly, those under physical therapy, or those with no exercise experience "average." I'm willing to bet most anyone at the gym could execute these exercises with very little chance of error.
