  • do you even care about your finger?/.....

  • "This is too much harmful"

    "to ur body n eyes"

"so plz dont try it again"

    "its not for play.....mind this..."

    like.... really?

  • does that burn your hand?

  • OHH COOL idk what it is but its cool lol

  • nice

  • i tried this with an old hp, and failed, the diode was tiny, and two pins came out, also the polarity was impossible to check....because all the combinations just shorted out th batteries =.=///// GRR...

  • @smurfboy266 the diodes are tiny! if you broke the pins it wont work. and usually the top pin is positive, the middle right pin is negative and the botton pin i cut off.

    my burning laser works fine!

  • ...wow.

  • this is too much harmfull

    to ur body n eyes

so plz dnt try it again

    its not 4 play.......

    mind this..

  • right

  • let him do what he want.. i mean ... if he want to?

  • learn grammar

  • correct me

  • what did you use for collimate the beam?

I've also built one, i pilot the laser diode with 300 mA, no problems found.

    Sorry for bad english.

  • Well, in the video I used the outer lens of the DVD writer head. But you can find laser module, what you can use for collimator. This contains a little 650nm TO diode, that you can replace with your dvd writer diode.

  • thanks. In your opinion can more DL added to create a huge beam?

one 300 mW DL + another 300 mW DL using beam slitter, + collimator.. 600 mW of focused laser beam, in theory.

This is my idea, if i will find another DL, i use it to create a powerful laser.

  • i wanna know how voltage u use.. like 12v,3.6v,9v....

  • The laser diode must be drive by current generator, 16x writer diode needs about 200mA.

  • How much mA did you put?

  • About 250mA.

  • how do you make the laser work w/o the dvd drive being pluged in

  • I drive it with a current generator.

  • what was that at the very very end?

  • That was a rotating mirror, and a little smoke.

  • awesome? where do u get a rotating mirror? ill have a 283mW red no later than monday! i cant wait!

  • Put a little glue to a 12VDC motor, and then a piece of mirror on the glue awry. Now turn on the motor, aim the laser to the center of the mirror, and you have the same circle-water effect.

  • nice,and powerful!
