'lyrical chemist rhyme menace diminish you for the benefits, then continue to kill shit, for the fuck of it' ...and keith murray is the weak link in the triple threat, modern mc's aint even close...
I LOVE HOW DEF SQUAD BASED ALL THERE VIDEOS OFF OF MOVIES NOT LIKE THE VIDEOS TODAY THE SAME OLE SAME STRIP CLUB,BITCHES,MONEY....DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVE ALL 3 BUT DAMN HAVE SOME DIVERSITY
Real talk, who remembers the Survival of the Illest extra CD's that came with the Onyx cd as well as the Def Squad one late spring/early summer 1998 when the CD's first dropped, only limited copies came with them...cant believe its been almost 12 years now
There aint no half steppin/I'm Reppin like a nuclear weapon/Manifestin immaculate conceptions/Lyrically I rape an MC like sodomy.../ Eric Sermon is seriously underrated as an MC. He's in my top 20 of the best who've ever done it!
@gallantfellow You are so right.. Can't believe a year has passed since I wrote that. The Hip Hop Honors is a good idea but a joke after the first 2. EPMD was on as a tribute to Def Jam. Eric will tell you how they were the first to do a lot of things. Using Parliment and Roger Troutman samples is an example. He doesn't get enough credit. But pioneers rarely do.
@miRasJamal 2 years later, I know exactly what you mean. He's holding his own with the Lyrical Lexicon Keith Murray and the Funk Doctor Reggie Noble. After Eric's verse I keep that "somebody farted" look on my face while shaking my head.
Keith killed the verse, GAWD!!! Hey up and commers. Take Notes, SON!
