  • Whats the ball on the tail of the honeybee for?

  • light stick has natzi ssign on it

  • ive got one of these helicopters,

i cannot get it to lift off even on full throttle, can anyone through some advice my way as its really getting me down!!!!!!!!!

  • hi, i just wonder. Since i just got my first honeybee cp2 (and first over 3ch heli) i started wondering where to put the battery, cause when i see yours i see that it's fitted under the reciever (or whatever you call it, i'm new so i don't know too much) and i don't seem to get mine under... -It's just not enough space there.... Hope you can help me with how i attach my battery so that i can finally get going! ;-)

  • Thanks kindly for your comments. So sorry I have not had a chance to get back to you very quickly.

If you see my latest video, 300th, you will see how many emails I have and you will know why. LOL.

Battery is located in a small compartment for it under the fuselage. I push mine is as far as it will go. Good luck.

  • Mr. Herbert, is there any high risk for a heli blade to come off or snap off in flight? I never seen it happen. But it scares me when I fly my trex600 what do you think?

  • Nothing is impossible, but it is very unlikely, unless there was a crash. Always check the bolts and nuts and for any cracks before you fly and relax.

  • Thanks.

  • you know what..my first rc heli was the honeybee, and it sucks! it really does! get your hands on some quality helis like walkera, align or others..you will see. seriously though. thanks again sir.

  • If you have seen my other videos, you know I have had them all and still do, including gas. I get the feeling you just want to argue.

  • all helicopters do not "hang to the right". that is totally incorrect!

  • Sorry to disagree, but all models do and it is due to Gyroscopic Precess. It is why the tail rotors on the real CH53's are tilted. Even the Aerofly RC simulator program has it built in for realism. Check out my video "My Aerofly Heli leans to the right"

  • i do know that any rotating object deals with gyroscopic precession if moved. (rc helis are not affected by this so much due to the rotational inertia of the main shaft and blades being relatively low), this is why i say you are wrong. i fly rc helicopters and they hover as flat as the horizon from what i can tell. i have never seen what was going on with your heli (watch all other hovering videos, none are like yours). it's almost like the main rotor is not inline with your heli. it's not g.p.

  • I still disagree. I have been flying model helicopters for 30 years...they all lean. I'm speaking from experience.

  • also, gyroscopic precession would not cause your problem, since gyroscopic precession works approximately 90° in the direction of rotation from the point where the force is applied. your main shaft is either "out of line" or your heli is heavy on its right side. again, it's not g.s.

  • Sorry. I still disagree and so does my Physics teacher and helicopter pilots I know. We have discussed this. None of my helicopters are out of kilter or heavy on one side.

  • i have a 450 size heli and a micro heli, walkera 4 #3b), and several others. i've never, ever had a problem with what you speak of. i have trimmed them all out (indoors, under no wind, and get them all at least four feet over the ground to cancel out ground turbulence) and my helis can hover "hands off". if what you say is true, then hands off hovering would be impossible. i strongly disagree with you still.

being a mechanical engineer and paying attention to all detail... i still disagree.

  • but if we must agree to disagree, then i will. you have been a gentleman and that means a lot in my book. thank you sir.

    -g

  • Perfect landing at 6:50

  • LOL THanks.

  • vteclude4ws I also moved up from a lama v4 to a honeybee, i could fly my lama great and when i got the hb i thought it would be easy.I only found out today that my battery is in the wrong place and iv bee watching daves vids for months(i feel stupid).I'm waiting for more blades.

  • Great videos. In fact, your videos really helped a lot when i recentley took the step up from lama to honey bee.

  • I thank you kindly for that sir.

  • That's really cool Mr. Herbert! I never knew helis leaned to the side like that. Nice flying, too!! :)

  • Yep, any of them with tail rotors do. See my video "My Aerofly Heli Leans" to see more on it from me. Thanks kindly.

  • ok but what about an rc planes balance point how do you tell whare that is

  • The rule of thumb it to balance it about 1 inch nose down, balancing at about 1/4-1/2 in front of the highest part of the top wing's airfoil curve. That is usually about 1/3 of the way back from the leading edge.

  • Do you fly helis to recognize that or something? It is one of the most stable helis I have had and flies in all winds, as you can see in my other vids on it.

  • my storm launcher broke then i fixed it by making a new rudder and "wing" but before that i couldnt get it to fly and i dont know why

  • try the storm launcher in the water. It will go as fast as thw wind! hahaha. Good flying dave

  • Got several videos of it flying off the water, and your right. Thanks for the comments.

  • i just bought a honey bee king II

i have a lama, am i buying this helicoptor too soon? (is it too hard to fly?)

do you think i'll be able to fly it without crashing it all the time. and no, i haven't got it in the mail yet.

  • If your flying the lama, you will find the King II much more sensitive, but you should be able to handle it. Use a simulator and study my 9 heli flying tips again, before you fly it. Good luck.

    Dave

  • you should make another storm launcher

  • I have 4 of the stock ones, which still fly the best. I may do another video on one soon.

  • I think that the lite stick like the wind

  • It does okay, but sure gets bounced around in the wind.

  • thanks for the tip about the battery position in the honeybee, made it much easier to get going as a newbie.

  • Your welcome. Study my 9 heli tips and good luck.

  • how could you use a crontroller from 1 helicopter on another(i have one from a broken hely and want to use it on one that works)

  • If it is an etrm heli, you can use it on another etrm heli. If you want to use it on a belt driven or ccpm heli, they have to have the same kind of radio controls. (like gyros, brushless etc.)

  • have you considerd in getting a walkera hydro foam they fly great you can hover and they are aerobatic heaps better than a storm launcher

  • Nope. That Hydro boat costs $230 and if you crash...what? Mine cost $15 and I flew it today in the snow and even hit a tree without a ding.

  • how did you get a storm launcher for $15

    in australia the are $120

  • List price in usa is $59, plus a battery. Your price is pretty high. Walmart blew them out at $15, because they had no batteries. Now the price is back up to $49. Try ordering one online at Walmart.

  • is the storm launcher easy to fly?

and by the way you are the best rc flyer i have heard of that i know of.

  • They do not fly as easy as you think. They do not glide whatsoever, since there are no wings. It helps to be able to fly rc planes, just for understanding how not to over control it. But learning by running around on water or snow and jumping up flying 50 ft and down, helps learn a lot.

  • Dave, I have seen in a few of your videos you have directed people to you 9 heli tips. How do I find these? Thanks for you help. Your videos are really helpful for someone just starting out!

  • Thanks kindly. I am sending you my 9 heli tips in a PM. Good luck

  • pm me the tips too plz

  • I am so surprised that it did not break on the hardest crash I have seen for a Storm Launcher.

  • They are strong and electric glue does wonders. I have cracked one side before so, glued it. It is still working too.

  • Hahaha flying backwords, what a cool trick :-P

  • Thanks a lot.

  • Nice vid. If your like me 5 min later your tweaking your lawnmover...

  • you sound like that guy from "The Big Labousky"

  • WOW!

  • cool video. I have been trying to save my money for a beginners rc plane. Do you think the stick is a good one? If not, then what is? Thanks very!

  • The stick does not overwhelm you and it is forgiving, levels itself out and is fun. They only cost about $30.

  • Great info! I'll be workin on my wall scrathers in the AM using this great info/lesson. Keep em comin Dave..

  • Thanks Dave.

  • Very good information about helicopter balance Dave. Also, nice flying the LiteStik in strong winds. Keep up the good work with your videos.

  • Thanks kindly.

  • Fantastic.... I always wondered where to put that battery. The directions aren't too clear on that. Thank you. Looks like yours is still flying. 5 stars!
