hi, i just wonder. Since i just got my first honeybee cp2 (and first over 3ch heli) i started wondering where to put the battery, cause when i see yours i see that it's fitted under the reciever (or whatever you call it, i'm new so i don't know too much) and i don't seem to get mine under... -It's just not enough space there.... Hope you can help me with how i attach my battery so that i can finally get going! ;-)
Mr. Herbert, is there any high risk for a heli blade to come off or snap off in flight? I never seen it happen. But it scares me when I fly my trex600 what do you think?
Nothing is impossible, but it is very unlikely, unless there was a crash. Always check the bolts and nuts and for any cracks before you fly and relax.
you know what..my first rc heli was the honeybee, and it sucks! it really does! get your hands on some quality helis like walkera, align or others..you will see. seriously though. thanks again sir.
Sorry to disagree, but all models do and it is due to Gyroscopic Precess. It is why the tail rotors on the real CH53's are tilted. Even the Aerofly RC simulator program has it built in for realism. Check out my video "My Aerofly Heli leans to the right"
i do know that any rotating object deals with gyroscopic precession if moved. (rc helis are not affected by this so much due to the rotational inertia of the main shaft and blades being relatively low), this is why i say you are wrong. i fly rc helicopters and they hover as flat as the horizon from what i can tell. i have never seen what was going on with your heli (watch all other hovering videos, none are like yours). it's almost like the main rotor is not inline with your heli. it's not g.p.
also, gyroscopic precession would not cause your problem, since gyroscopic precession works approximately 90° in the direction of rotation from the point where the force is applied. your main shaft is either "out of line" or your heli is heavy on its right side. again, it's not g.s.
Sorry. I still disagree and so does my Physics teacher and helicopter pilots I know. We have discussed this. None of my helicopters are out of kilter or heavy on one side.
i have a 450 size heli and a micro heli, walkera 4 #3b), and several others. i've never, ever had a problem with what you speak of. i have trimmed them all out (indoors, under no wind, and get them all at least four feet over the ground to cancel out ground turbulence) and my helis can hover "hands off". if what you say is true, then hands off hovering would be impossible. i strongly disagree with you still.
being a mechanical engineer and paying attention to all detail... i still disagree.
vteclude4ws I also moved up from a lama v4 to a honeybee, i could fly my lama great and when i got the hb i thought it would be easy.I only found out today that my battery is in the wrong place and iv bee watching daves vids for months(i feel stupid).I'm waiting for more blades.
The rule of thumb it to balance it about 1 inch nose down, balancing at about 1/4-1/2 in front of the highest part of the top wing's airfoil curve. That is usually about 1/3 of the way back from the leading edge.
Do you fly helis to recognize that or something? It is one of the most stable helis I have had and flies in all winds, as you can see in my other vids on it.
If your flying the lama, you will find the King II much more sensitive, but you should be able to handle it. Use a simulator and study my 9 heli flying tips again, before you fly it. Good luck.
If it is an etrm heli, you can use it on another etrm heli. If you want to use it on a belt driven or ccpm heli, they have to have the same kind of radio controls. (like gyros, brushless etc.)
List price in usa is $59, plus a battery. Your price is pretty high. Walmart blew them out at $15, because they had no batteries. Now the price is back up to $49. Try ordering one online at Walmart.
They do not fly as easy as you think. They do not glide whatsoever, since there are no wings. It helps to be able to fly rc planes, just for understanding how not to over control it. But learning by running around on water or snow and jumping up flying 50 ft and down, helps learn a lot.
Dave, I have seen in a few of your videos you have directed people to you 9 heli tips. How do I find these? Thanks for you help. Your videos are really helpful for someone just starting out!
Fantastic.... I always wondered where to put that battery. The directions aren't too clear on that. Thank you. Looks like yours is still flying. 5 stars!

Thanks kindly for your comments. So sorry I have not had a chance to get back to you very quickly.
If you see my latest video, 300th, you will see how many emails I have and you will know why. LOL.
Battery is located in a small compartment for it under the fuselage. I push mine is as far as it will go. Good luck.

If you have seen my other videos, you know I have had them all and still do, including gas. I get the feeling you just want to argue.

all helicopters do not "hang to the right". that is totally incorrect!

I still disagree. I have been flying model helicopters for 30 years...they all lean. I'm speaking from experience.

Yep, any of them with tail rotors do. See my video "My Aerofly Heli Leans" to see more on it from me. Thanks kindly.

try the storm launcher in the water. It will go as fast as thw wind! hahaha. Good flying dave

i just bought a honey bee king II
i have a lama, am i buying this helicoptor too soon? (is it too hard to fly?)
do you think i'll be able to fly it without crashing it all the time. and no, i haven't got it in the mail yet.

you should make another storm launcher

I have 4 of the stock ones, which still fly the best. I may do another video on one soon.

have you considerd in getting a walkera hydro foam they fly great you can hover and they are aerobatic heaps better than a storm launcher
jwalker590 4 years ago
Nope. That Hydro boat costs $230 and if you crash...what? Mine cost $15 and I flew it today in the snow and even hit a tree without a ding.

how did you get a storm launcher for $15
in australia the are $120

The stick does not overwhelm you and it is forgiving, levels itself out and is fun. They only cost about $30.
