As an ultimate Bon Jovi Fan,I'm getting a bit disappointed from Richie in the earliest years...He has totally drowned his guitar into GAIN and you can't hear a single note!...the intro of the song is so much better in the album....I believe his best tone was in 2000 (The Crush Tour)..

@snatchet you can see him playing strats and les pauls on this tour, but again he DROWNED them into gain!!!..I don't mind so much about the new signature, basswood and pickups are clearly a prototype and that's what he tries to do as a guitar legend...the amp settings and pedal board must be rearranged! too much gaiiiinnn!!!!what do you think?

@underhillwest yea he still plays his strats and les pauls but i think that because his new signature he is probably using to test out new gear (like you said) means he's used a different sound to experiement but forgotten his old sound. I'm just not a fan of the new signature so that's probably why I'm being biased :P

did you see the small gig they did for BBC2? His sound was totally drowned out by gain and top end it reallyu dissapointed me. but yea your right his tone is bad at the moment

@snatchet yeah I've seen that BBC gig...It's only noise he produces nowadays...even the soundboard guys realized that and Richie's volume is lower! in the new track "what do you got?" Bobby is playing the intro riff live.I'm sure Jon demanded that because of the cleaner sound.I'm sure that in the Crush days Richie would play the riff...I'm also sure that if they wrote "You give love a bad name" nowadays Bobby would play the intro anthem and Richie would just hold the noisy power chords...!!!

I've just seen the live video on youtube and seen that Bobby plays the intro,eventhough he's playing with a capo high up you would have still thought richie would play his double neck like he does on HAND? Richie is not so good in sliding,and he has admitted that in an interview (which is honest and fine)..he always messes up that "superman tonight" solo, check the promo appearances on tv!and you can't slide so good with all this gain :-)..yeah Bobby has a capo for the "what do you got?" intro,but if it was for richie to play it, he would have found the way like HAND, dead or alive egt..

@danmcgarrity1 I hate to admit it but richie has his days where he is really good but Im a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of bon jovi and my fav guitar player is richie and he influenced me to play guitar, but his tone is bad this tour, he has no sustain on his guitar, hell at the solo with keep the faith he can't sustain that long harmonic when he shoots the crowd with his guitar. I hope richie gets a better tone next tour like HAVE A NICE DAY :D
