I appreciate that they write alot of (or all of) their own stuff, are multi-instrumentalists (and play electric guitar at that). But I don't think they have much soul, intelligence or depth. Their whole generation just sort of lack the soul of generations under them imo. GenX is the last cool generation, and perhaps the very firsts of GenY, but that's it.

for being a "singer", you are not musically inclined because these 2 songs do not "sound almost exactly the same". how can something be "almost" and "exactly" at the same time? the two songs totally have different arrangements and aly & aj's don't have the uber "yeah-eh-yeah" avril does on "i'm with you". i'm also a huge fan of avril and when i heard "no one", avril's song never crossed my mind.
