in a rather interesting reversal of normal censoring procedure, when this was broadcast on MTV's AMP back in the 90s, much of the gore was obscured by video effects... but the breast shown after a minute was left in!
I already saw Robot Carnival, but it wasn't what I expected. It did have have robots terrorising people, but not enough gore. So please if anyone knows of an anime, that has something like a Robot Apocalypse Plot, that is not like the terminator in anyway please comment. Thank You
@tigerzombe0713 It's just for the music video, however the animation director is the same as the one of Akira, an anime movie (which is based on a manga).
@Mannike54 Ok thank u. I wish they did make an anime series like this though. It is the future & crazy robots that slightly resemble humans, r going around slashing ppl, humans have to hide to survive, but there is a group of people that hunt these robots. So it is like a Zombie Apocalypse but with Psyco Robots terrorising the planet. I would really love to have this music video turned into an actual series. If anyone knows any managa or anime like what I just described please tell me the name.
The rumors are exact, there is a longer version for this clip.
But THERE IS NO unreleased sequences from Koji Morimoto in it. The name of this extended version is "KI", it was released live ONLY on internet on December 1996 as an experimental show. Most of the additional sequences were just slide show and illustrations... The lenght was approximately 25mn and of course Ken Ishii was in charge of the mix.
@keeperofthecheese That is a music video. This is something I really appreciate with Koji Morimoto, he only do short film and with only 5 or 20 mn he can say a lot of things. But I' ll be glad to see a longer project from him in movie theater.
To this day, I think that this is one of the best videos I've ever seen. no matter how many times I see it, I always have to watch it from beginning to end, and of course at max volume ^_^
I remember seeing Ken Ishii play Brussels Ancienne Belgique with this playing in the background off my head.. it was an out of body experience and never to be forgotten! AMAZING!!!
Most humans are planning to leave for outer space anyway, in expectationof the earth's self-purification. Admist such confusion and dogmatic overload, in 1995 a mutant with an unconventional contact with the universe (New Type-Ken Ishii) emerges. His directive is to save mankind from an insignificant world and to lead them into transcendence. He has this incredible power...
1995 was a fucking year. (no this isn't inside the booklet)
What follows is precisly what I can read inside my old 95 JELLY TONES booklet:
In a world confronted with problems such as overpopulation, environmental destruction and exhausted democracy, fascists (mass media?) plan to reduce population by means of war and massacre, Space Aristocrats (TK?) want to take control and the Anti-Global Federation (indies?) incites all human beings to become space emigrants (Spacenoids?).
Why do I get the feeling I've met that guy riding the bike before... I must be losing my mind, I feel like I've seen him before somewhere... Maybe in a dream, wtf man. Seems so familiar.
Never thought I'd say this about a music video, but they NEED to make an anime or movie based off of this.
Seriously, it would make for something pretty damn amazing if you gave it a coherent plot. Though the music video already has some sort of vague plot behind it, if you pay close enough attention.
@GeneralHoohah It was made for this song. Koji morimoto just used a few of his ideas/sketches and created scenes around them. Much like his movie Genius Party Beyond - Dimension Bomb (it's on youtube)
I see it as bad evil guys torture and experiment, good guy arrives on his bike to sort them out, bike ride gives him that mellow but still got a horrid job at the end of it grin during the ride and when he takes the goggles off, the moments gone.
I think the vid was made by someone who enjoys getting lost in the mellow moment while riding a bike anywhere as much as I do.
After seeing and remembering this, I had a revelation! :-l The 90's was so much stylish, no doubt about it. :-l Everyone could feel that MAGIC then. It was before MTV got raped by rappers & cheap commercial music. Don't you miss the old "K7 X-MIX" series? :'-)

The contents of the video makes me remember why I am sometimes deeply scared of mankind and our human nature.
The quality of the video itself, combined with the music, reminds me why I love mankind since this is just pure art.
