  • 日本人らしい曲

  • Cool video but the song was pretty boring

  • なつかしい!

    でも今見てもカッコイイよなーコレ

  • Song was pretty lame.

  • Blew my mind back in the day and still do. Thank you Morimoto and Ishii for this little Masterpiece! Still have the 12" in my collection :)

  • in a rather interesting reversal of normal censoring procedure, when this was broadcast on MTV's AMP back in the 90s, much of the gore was obscured by video effects... but the breast shown after a minute was left in!

  • これ以上のPVと音って、ごめん。観た事無いかも。

    バイクに乗りたく成る。AKIRAを探しに行きたく成る。

  • it's....oh no comment = =

  • WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST WATCH

  • best edit. of this classic track&vid. Well done.

  • What the fuck Japan

  • 今観ても古びない、映像と音です。^^

  • dat ken ishi kid suks skrilex dick

  • @ThumbsUpIn2011 skrillex is transexual cause i fuckd his pussy!!have you looked at his face,i feel sorry for you nigre!!

  • Who is david geta?

  • イカす映像と音楽ですね。カッコイイです!

  • That David guetta comment made me laugh!! Guetta can go and die!! Ken is brilliant! Great vid and travk

  • its weird how well the music goes with video!!

  • I am conflicted.

The contents of the video makes me remember why I am sometimes deeply scared of mankind and our human nature.

The quality of the video itself, combined with the music, reminds me why I love mankind since this is just pure art.

  • @DavidGuettaPwnsAll David guetta is a piece of bullpoop.

  • @DavidGuettaPwnsAll haha good joke :D david g. is pop music and not to compare with this track

  • @DavidGuettaPwnsAll

David guetta fans are not the type who usually give a fuck about music , so the very fact you posting on "extra" gives your trollness away. 7/10

  • I was searching for this music video for ten fucking years!

  • this makes me feel odd and miss my youth. fuck that im just 27 !

  • 3:14 I want those goggles

  • Is this an actual anime or is it just a music video? If it is a real anime serious I would really like to know its name. Please and thank you.

  • @tigerzombe0713 It's just for the music video, however the animation director is the same as the one of Akira, an anime movie (which is based on a manga).

  • @Mannike54 Ok thank u. I wish they did make an anime series like this though. It is the future & crazy robots that slightly resemble humans, r going around slashing ppl, humans have to hide to survive, but there is a group of people that hunt these robots. So it is like a Zombie Apocalypse but with Psyco Robots terrorising the planet. I would really love to have this music video turned into an actual series. If anyone knows any managa or anime like what I just described please tell me the name.

  • i think Ken Ishii watch this and look back on the best work he ever did same for the clip... pure art

  • Back in '95, i was 12 and listening to this track. I love my childhood. ;

  • 何度見ても神

  • That Video creeped the shit out of me when i was a kid... good old days :)

  • It's like the sound of tomorrow, but 15 years ago?

  • thx very much for this extraordinary piece :)

  • I can't like this enough. The more I watch it, the more it hits me. It's incredible.

  • The rumors are exact, there is a longer version for this clip.

But THERE IS NO unreleased sequences from Koji Morimoto in it. The name of this extended version is "KI", it was released live ONLY on internet on December 1996 as an experimental show. Most of the additional sequences were just slide show and illustrations... The lenght was approximately 25mn and of course Ken Ishii was in charge of the mix.

  • is the video actually clips cut from a film or is it actually just a video made for this song?

  • @keeperofthecheese That is a music video. This is something I really appreciate with Koji Morimoto, he only do short film and with only 5 or 20 mn he can say a lot of things. But I' ll be glad to see a longer project from him in movie theater.

  • @keeperofthecheese

its made for the song only

  • 面白いですね^^

    確かに16年前と今って表面的には時代に動きがあるように思えないんですよね

    エキストラのCD買ったのが26歳。いま40歳・・・

  • mommy! *in the bathtub crying*

  • хуйня (huinya)

  • What is this I don't even

  • pure inspiration

  • Great Work in 1995!!

  • イノセンスとか、鉄コン筋クリートっぽい要素がうまく統合されてる。

    良質な次世代のクリエーターさんですね^_^

  • @nejimakijima2 "EXTRA" came out in 1995.

  • Will the real Ken ishi please stand up!

  • This was originally included on a VHS tape with the vinyl 12" promo.

  • Christ, it's like Silent Hill in anime form

  • @AlexM0rgan You said it :D

  • And I thought drugs were prohibited in Japan...

  • I'm pretty sure there's a 'longer' version, as I editied it during those days..

    Been a while though... ;-)

    Love this video!

    grts

    Frank

  • WOW MTV sure editied a lot from the original...

  • Anyone have an actual story to the video?

Torture, murder and vengeance was all I saw.

  • @SortCodeify art was all i saw.

  • @JT33LP53 Well, art is everything. Even a toilet bowl. Its up to the beholder

  • @viktordedkov what if you're beholder is ignorant to it's concept? does that stop it from being art?

  • To this day, I think that this is one of the best videos I've ever seen. no matter how many times I see it, I always have to watch it from beginning to end, and of course at max volume ^_^

  • This is too trippy, I can't fucking handle it.

  • TOP TRACK, but the vibe of the video doesn't seem fitting to me, too violent.

  • I remember seeing Ken Ishii play Brussels Ancienne Belgique with this playing in the background off my head.. it was an out of body experience and never to be forgotten! AMAZING!!!

  • Studio 4°C ROCKS! I love seeing their work in music videos :D

It's a political statement done in such a creepy way it's easy to focus on what you're seeing instead of the message.

  • 映像のドラッグですね!凄い見入った、中毒性がある。。。

  • i remember seeing this video on amp when i was about 13. i was completely blown away by it. it was right before anime got real popular in the u.s.

  • Most humans are planning to leave for outer space anyway, in expectationof the earth's self-purification. Admist such confusion and dogmatic overload, in 1995 a mutant with an unconventional contact with the universe (New Type-Ken Ishii) emerges. His directive is to save mankind from an insignificant world and to lead them into transcendence. He has this incredible power...

1995 was a fucking year. (no this isn't inside the booklet)

  • @izillian

yesss...1995 gave us Ghost in the Shell and the mighty Korg Prophecy....

for all the synthheads in the house...

  • @izillian You need to be his publicist :D

  • @DogmeUK I wish I could! Jelly Tones is a bible!

  • What follows is precisly what I can read inside my old 95 JELLY TONES booklet:

In a world confronted with problems such as overpopulation, environmental destruction and exhausted democracy, fascists (mass media?) plan to reduce population by means of war and massacre, Space Aristocrats (TK?) want to take control and the Anti-Global Federation (indies?) incites all human beings to become space emigrants (Spacenoids?).

  • Also, I wish that was a real show or something, i would love to watch it xD

  • This is such bizzaro music but i love it! What is it called?

  • weird and fucked up video but its really cool and trippy and very well done

  • just amaizing *****

  • Some kind of fucked up music video, then again it is from Japan.

  • Ghost in the Shell?

  • @Vantazzy would be great OST for GIS

  • @Vantazzy would be great OST for GIS, but anyway yoko kanno does great too

  • Why do I get the feeling I've met that guy riding the bike before... I must be losing my mind, I feel like I've seen him before somewhere... Maybe in a dream, wtf man. Seems so familiar.

  • @TubeYouDVD

That part reminded me of an old DOS game called Flashback: A Quest For Memory. There's a dude on a hoverbike at the game's intro sequence

  • I had faved the original one you uploaded some yeas ago. Thanks a lot!

  • 6 ppl Go play Lego

  • Never thought I'd say this about a music video, but they NEED to make an anime or movie based off of this.

Seriously, it would make for something pretty damn amazing if you gave it a coherent plot. Though the music video already has some sort of vague plot behind it, if you pay close enough attention.

  • awsome Anime and nice music :))) LIke +++

  • This is all in all so extra - vagant

Still an excellent track and video

  • You're awesome.

You could be even more by uploading this on Vimeo, so we can download the source video without any quality loss.

By the way, you're awesome. (I've I already said that?)

  • trip ended.

    Insert acid to continue.

  • @dankuro97 *inserts a very baaad acid*

    WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... 0_o

  • What an amazing video! Thanks for uploading it!

  • Oh my god! I haven't seen this in years! ....and it still looks as cool as ever!!!

  • Its great and verrrrry fantastic visual for deep idea!

  • need acid right now

  • This is 15 years old and still owns by any standards. Morimoto kicks ass!

  • cyberpunk

  • R&S forever. Let the beast go.

  • CYBRPNK4EvR !!11!

  • 5 fans of 009 sound system accidentally stumbled upon this video.

  • Hold F11 while watching :)

  • It doesn't get much better than this.

  • Ooooooookeeeyyyyy...

  • yeah ummm.....i almost had a seizure @_@

  • Is this part of a larger animation? It looks like you're in the middle of a larger movie or something.

  • @GeneralHoohah It was made for this song. Koji morimoto just used a few of his ideas/sketches and created scenes around them. Much like his movie Genius Party Beyond - Dimension Bomb (it's on youtube)

  • I see it as bad evil guys torture and experiment, good guy arrives on his bike to sort them out, bike ride gives him that mellow but still got a horrid job at the end of it grin during the ride and when he takes the goggles off, the moments gone.

I think the vid was made by someone who enjoys getting lost in the mellow moment while riding a bike anywhere as much as I do.

  • I remember MTV played these type of videos. God what the fuck is going on with music

  • @spoonslap down the drain

  • @spoonslap I agree... it all wanna be gangter bullshit hip hop... this was real good stuff...

  • @spoonslap Yes, but heavily edited. (For example, they cut the scene with the little kid holding the gun.)

  • @spoonslap

The M stands for Money now.

  • @spoonslap Yeah, they "played" them in a specially cordoned-off block late at night so they didn't infect the rest of society with actual music.

  • @spoonslap Yeah, they "played" them in a specially cordoned-off block late at night so they didn't infect the rest of society with actual music.

  • @spoonslap nothing..nothing is going with the music..heh

  • what year did this came out?

  • @spoonslap 1996

  • If this video doesn't get more than a million views, then I know great music doesn't exist anymore in the minds of simpletons.

  • Woot!!

  • amazing

  • nice vid, but seizure warning lol

  • you are my absolute hero!! I remember seeing this on MTV's AMP back in the 90s~! I stayed up late just for it!

  • Coooooool!

  • nice tune! love ken ishii since his secret of mana music on nintendo :D

  • This video's world is kind of both far and close to the modern life of major cities.

  • Una obra maestra! gracias por subirla!!!

What a great stuff, ken Ishi @ HD

    Thankx for posting

  • cooles video 5* ^^

  • thanks for that great HD quality sharing* great producer and one of my favorites* ;)

  • After seeing and remembering this, I had a revelation! :-l The 90's was so much stylish, no doubt about it. :-l Everyone could feel that MAGIC then. It was before MTV got raped by rappers & cheap commercial music. Don't you miss the old "K7 X-MIX" series? :'-)

  • @Caesaurus What's that? o_O Has there really been a time when MTV had quality programmes? No Super sweet 16 or mainstream-raped rap? You must be shitting me :´(

  • @GeneDzk aeon flux was a good mtv cartoon, as was beavis and butthead

  • I saw this video from TV channel few years ago. It's still one of my favorite and I always want buy DVD of this film... they got to make one ,man ! Fuck man I want to collect this pieces of anime films..this is part of rare piece of Japan's anime library. This is my stories to tell ..WHERE IS IT !!!!! okay, okay I'm cool, bro.

  • thatz fukkin ace!!

  • I was looking for this video clip 03 years ago!!!

  • Is there a story behind this, perhaps its jst a shortened version? Thx for uploading in HQ.

  • this isn`t a shortened version, studio 4C made this animation just for this song.

there is a rumor of a 20 minutes version of this story, but no, on studio 4C`s page doesn`t say anything about it.

anyways, in my opinion, the whole story is about fighting with the urban technology that tries to "kill" us, also with various drugs that fuck up our brains (represented by the tortured guy with his face melting and so on). the guy is actually ken ishii who comes to save us in the end :D

    makes sense?

  • @xXblackgaarangelXx Actually, there is a 20 min version. The music video was such a success they made a longer version OVA. They're both really good.

  • @Aicirt8

i greatly appreciate the confirmation of such a video, that really made my day. i`ve been looking for it for months...

would you (or anyone) mind to share the location of this OVA? i bet 99% of the viewers might be interested in watching the whole thing.

also, do you (or anyone) have any idea why they (studio 4C) don`t mention it`s existence?

  • @xXblackgaarangelXx That is really weird that they don't mention it exists, lol. I don't own the OVA, but I'll try to get my hands on a copy, then try to figure how to post it =P

  • @Aicirt8

yeah O.o i would say it`s really fucked up they don`t say a word about it, you would think the would want it to be famous or, at least, known.

that would be marvelously considerate. i`m dieing to watch it ^^ i better hurry and subscribe :3

  • @xXblackgaarangelXx

There is an Extra, but its part of another series and only tangentially related to the music video.
