Great song by SIMPLE MINDS. I can never get enough of this song. I remember this song back in the 80's along with THE FLIRTS with the songs PASSION, DANGER, JUKEBOX, CALLING ALL BOYS. Just a reminder THE FLIRTS will be playing at CLUB AVEC ON 10/30/2011 in Huntington Beach, CA. USA. Later!!!!
A brilliant band from Scotland who were truly awesome during the late 70's/early 80's then turned to shit when their original rhythm section((in particular Derek Forbes, what a dude) and synth operator quit.Everything from "Real to Real" to "New Gold Dream" is brilliant, after those lp's just forget it guys
Brilliant! Simple Minds were amazing from 1979 to 1982. They were really ahead of their time. Their first 6 albums are really worth checking out - especially - "Empires and dance" "Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call" and "New gold dream" . This track is from "Empires and dance" and was released as a single in Sep 1980. It never made the UK charts - that's because it sounded like nothing else in the UK charts at the time. (o:
j'm a still a great simple minds fan! j met jim in Venice(j'm italian)2 weeks ago!
j believe(it's only my opinion,j respect your thought)that Simple Minds were, are an underrated band! for sure they made some mistakes(the loss of mick mcneil)and they made some "normal"cd..but j think ,they 're a great live band(j saw 20gigs in the last 25 years,j'm 41 years old)
black and white 4 me is a very good cd,although new gold dream is still the top(and waterfront their best song).Ciao cheers from italy
Some time in the 90s I was telling someone that I liked early Simple Minds. He said "You mean stuff like Waterfront?" Ha, ha, ha! I agree, 79-82 stuff is the best.
this was played every weekend at the discos in my hometown just outside Glasgow from 1981 until I left in 1985. at the pause everyone used to stop dancing and count 1234 and start dancing again
