  • The first three words that come to mind are , "Oh hell Yeah!".

  • These remind me of the bombers that bombed my hometown in Germany, Dresden. The entire city was swept up in a fireball that melted humans. It was the true Holocaust. I lost countless relatives and friends. These planes should be pushed off a carrier into the ocean and forgotten. They never brought anyone freedom, just pain, misery and suffering on both sides of the pond.

  • @390bullitt1968 dude...your country shouldnt of killed millions of jews and also shouldnt of started WWII...just saying

  • @gurusurfers - Germany did not kill millions of Jews. That story is a hoax created from Russians who refused to allow Poland to be inspected. Once Germany was inspected and it was discovered not ONE human was gassed in Germany, American pathologists wanted to inspect the 6 camps in Poland. Stalin refused and thus was BORN, the fabled holohoax. Think of the Holohoax as pure Russian hate. Today, it is nothing more than a gravy train of financial reparations.

  • @390bullitt1968 Seriously?! I think you've been spending too much time hanging out with that crazy fucker in Iran.

  • @chitodote - did I mention I have 2 bigfoots on my farm. I have refused to let anyone on to inspect them and see them, but since I say it , it is true. If you don't believe that you are just like those holocaust deniers.

  • @390bullitt1968 Youve got to be a FUCKING RETARD to believe shit like that!!! And why doesnt anyone talk about the other 40 something Million who died in that war!? Im sick of hearing about the Jews and their Frigging 6 million! And another thing why is anybody talking about that bullshit on here any way? I'm here to look at the airplanes!

  • @390bullitt1968 Maybe we should have just let the Nazi's come over here and bomb our citizens! Look at what the Nazi's did! If they would have had these kinds of bombers they surely would have used them on us. My moms side of the family moved from Germany here after the war they were from Essen my Grandfather was in the Wehrmacht. Germany got what they had coming to them! They should be thankful they werent Japanese! War brings misery to everybody thats why people shouldnt start them!

  • such a beautiful aircraft

  • FYI: -Beautiful piece of Indus.-design (-stylish up-sweeping tail later inspired swoopie taillight-fins on 1948-'49 Cads.); -and although used in a needless nightmarish WW2 conflict of USA Jews declaring war upon Germany; -we're slowly realizing we were duped into fighting against the knowing pleas of Gen.-Chas.Lindbergh and anti-Communist St.Hitler, whom warned of the real enemy being jewZionist King Rothschilds warmongering Bank'ster-mafia whom are still today Fraud'closing on millions.!!!

  • Note that this B-17 is a replica of the actual B-17F-10-BO (Boeing/Seatlle-Built-10th production block) 'Memphis Belle' that is now undergoing full restoration at the Museum of the

U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. This B-17 is actually a B-17G-85-DL(Douglas Aircraft/Long Beach built-85th production block)that was configured back by the late warbird collector David Tallichet into appearing as a B-17F for the 1989 movie 'Memphis Belle'. It was a former fire bomber. Excellent work.

  • i know that bomber crews had to fly 25 missions before they went home. how long did it take a crew to fly their 25 missions. if you flew one every day you could be home in a month. would it be fair to say that it took a year to fly your 25 missions.

  • @drod103164 That isn't entirely accurate. Several crews actually did 40-50 missions....

  • @prg1972a OK on the average how long did it take to fly 40-50 missions? I mean A-10 pilots flew 2 missions a day 7 days a week in desert storm. i know the 25 mission rule did not apply to that. it just seems that 25 missions seems a little low for war.

  • @drod103164 It depended a lot on what time frame of the war and in what theater really... the crew of the Memphis Belle did 25 missions because the Army Air Corp decided to use them as PR back home to drive up the sales of war bonds... plus mainy frowned upon daylight bombing due to the amount of losses... so pretty much we ran bomb runs during the day and the Brits sent up their Lancasters at night...

  • beautyful old lady,... even over her ein Germany the Mephis Belle is famous... nice to see her still in the air ^^

  • i love belle most beautiful girl in the world

  • BEAUTIFUL FOOTAGE!!! NICE TO SEE AN F MODEL FOR A CHANGE! =) GREAT VID*****

  • we'll be seeing this fort in Geneseo in just 3 days!

  • memphis belle, based in geneseo, ny where i volunteer . i helped push this aircraft into the hanger for winter storage. she sure is wonderful. it took many people and a dodge 1 ton pickup tug to put this aircraft away. i was also one of the last people to see it running in 2010 before we put her away. all 4 engines were ran up before storage.

  • Beautiful airplane. I saw one just like her at Goldsboro NC Seymour Johnson AFB this past sunday.

  • 1 person is a nazi.

  • @Steamboater100: who?

  • @J4NN3K The person who disliked this vidio. :P

  • @Steamboater100: must be an Idiot.... it's a beauty - I am German as well and if those bombers wouldn't have banged the sh+++t out of the German Standings,... Oh my goood,... by the way, those bombers were majorly never used against civilian targets, they took out most of German 3rd Reich indusrty plants to weaken production - the killers were the British Royal Airforce.

  • Wow r they getting things squared away.

  • most stunning aircraft ever

  • 1 person does not know how to fly a Flying Fortress or "Fighting lady of the sky"

  • I have loved this aircraft all my life. I finally flew aboard the Collings Foundation B-17G Nine-O-Nine; it was the experience of a lifetime. I was also privileged to donate over 100 rounds of .50 for her nose guns.

Though this is not my video, I would like to dedicate it to the 18-25 year olds who flew these birds in WW-II. They were "heroes all."

  • We were at the air show but they couldn't start the Belle to do the flyover because they were afraid the prop wash would damage the antique autos behind her. At least now I have a pretty good idea of what we missed. Thanks for posting it!

  • wonder if anyone got oil dripped on them during the fly bys hehe

  • I'm blind, so i can only imagine what this plane looks like, but what a sound! And, I too, appreciate that you didn't put any music over this video and that it's in full stereo. If only more people did that! It's enough to have the announcer and the music already playing over the loud speakers, and that music did it justice. What a blast!

  • this b-17 was the one used in the movie memphis belle

  • Just beautiful!

  • Who says only jets can be modern?

  • I've actually walked right from the rear end of the plane up to the cockpit, the actual

B-17G Flying Fortress that I went through was based at RAF Duxford in Cambridgeshire East England, it was the Restored Memphis Belle 'Sally B'

    Quite Remarkable

  • @TheBlackOctane how'd you get to do that? In the Us you can actually go on flights in them for like £200 well worth it i'd say!

  • @jamesward299 Well I was at the Flying Legends Airshow at RAF Duxford where they bring out all the old warbirds and bombers etc, and there was a queue to go in the B-17G and I was like, yeah lets go for it, so I was first in line and I got to walk through it, its pretty cramped in there and I'd hate to think what its like when your flying in cold weather with enemy planes firing at you, horrible feeling :)

A flight in one sounds pretty amazing

  • the sound of a huge formation of these taking off must have been incredible back in WWII

  • ...one of the best B-17 videos on here hands down, and thank you a thousands times over for not putting music over that gorgeous sound!!!!!!!!!! 5 stars man.

  • Now that is a beautiful looking B-17

  • We Thought We Heard The Angels Sing. The plane only exists for the first few chapters... but it's all about the crew and the enormous will they have.

  • great upload!!! Thanks!!!!

  • this is what the b-52 of today was back in WWII. A piece of history still flying today. Thanks for the upload.

  • I'm proud to be an american citizen; my admiracion and respect for the USA military forces. God bless America.

  • the sound is just amazing :) Thanks for this beautiful upload.
