why does letterman seem uneasy? if u listen to the way he laughs sometimes and says things is a bit odd. leno is only making people laugh. good guy he is.
Letterman really likes and admires Leno but also secretly envies his wittiness, so when he got the Tonight Show, it really got to him. Letterman is more of a broadcaster, Leno is a comedian. They never really had good chemistry, it was so one sided. Letterman works better with certain people, like Paris Hilton.
letterman gave leno an outlet for years on his show.... basically hooked him up... if there was no latenight... leno never would have had the tonightshow.... carson picked letterman... leno sort of owes letterman in a way... but he screwed letterman over to get the tonight show... if letterman replaced carson... who else would have replaced letterman but leno... the selection was up to NBC but leno COULD have said no
Eugene Hasenfus's plane was shot down on October 5th, 1986. Since Leno mentions only the plane crash, this is almost certainly from October 1986, before this small, murky story became the full blown Iran/Contra Affair in early November.
LENO and Letterman used to do great segments together.I loved when Jay was on the show before all the drama begun.
