Yeah, 10 if you count Takagix and Endless, Sleepless. Or who knows? Maybe there's more now. Anyway. The 10(+) of them are SUPPOSED to all sound similar. They were all created by the same person. So no, they're not copies.

Groove bones didn't really catch on.

Maybe because the first dance to use them was so boring and shitty. :D The animation isn't even amazing. It's more to show off the groove bone and it doesn't do it well.
