I must admit that before he was shot they weren't nearly as popular as they are now but I personally think that they are still incredible regardless. The main thing is that it has become more well known and more people have actually listenedto it properly. When I first listened to them I thought they were okay but nothing special, in the last year or so when I actually listened to the rest of their stuff I've realized that they are/were incredibly talented. It's all opinion other than that fact.

I mean, Phil Anselmo is a great writer...I like the other two bands he is/was in(I heard he is in 4 or 5)Down & Superjoint Ritual...But to me he made that band...aside from his lyrics I cant stand Pantera as a band...and no one thought Diamond Whatshisname was the best thing ever until he died, drama queens! actually, I agree with this - to me Pantera always was a mediocre band with too much redneck/white-trash flavour in their appearance to my liking. They are good boys, I give them that, nice, cool and all, but simply not my cup 'o tea...
