  • I wish they had of mentioned how many vehicles Bantam made. I know they are rare but they are around so Bantam made quite a few.

  • I can't believe that the army back then would stress their requirement for a new vehicle. Today would consider that feat impossible

  • JEEEEEP O||||||O!!!

  • I like the way the Army didn't leave out the Bantam Car Co. by giving them a contract to make the trailers for the Jeep.

  • Only America can go from, in 3 years, having no such thing as or anything like a jeep, to inventing one, cranking it out in massive numbers, and trying to make it fly, swim, and go across cable lines. That's American innovation at its best!

  • @redreaper2020 And from that also came the whole 4X4 and SUV craze. :)

  • @Tsuruta1 dems be dems foh bah fos brah.

  • @redreaper2020 Can you translate that please? :)

  • 09:43 HOLY SHIT!!! a true flying jeep ? this achived the impossible!

  • Those times people were so creative. The flying Jeep Takes the cake for most awsome Idea. Can you Imagine being the dripilot of that? i bet the soldier who was flying had a blast.

  • Thats amazing i want a flying jeep

  • Something about that flying Jeep makes me feel truly American.

  • That old Bantam is so cool,

  • @tallzdatank you want a flying jeep? go to the phllipines and ride ours

  • I have a 1948 jeep CJ2A and love it.

happy to know the history of their creation

  • While I don't have an original Jeep. I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee, my brother in law has a 1959 Willy's Jeep, both are 4 wheel drive.

  • Horses pwn

  • First the small company invents it, then the large industry gets the contract - that's what i all a slap in the face and a total rip-off ^^

  • Carl P - father of the Jeep.

  • @texaskev09 Karl P...

  • The perfect tool for the job. I love the simplicity and the sheer utility of the little old jeep. It's beautiful in its basic utility. The military now spends $80,000 for a Humvee which is just a big fancy jeep. We could build 5 jeeps for the price of 1 Humvee. Eisenhower was dead right when he warned of the "military industrial complex". Our Military leaders will sell us anything by scaring us into thinking we "need" something overpriced and overrated...

  • Yea but the humvee actually is much stronger wich means it can carry more soldiers and equipment. The humvee's are also much more durable and protective to the soldiers.

  • @2020182 Jeep actually still produces jeeps, they actually are fully capable of being armored as well. In fact the military Jeep that is currently in production is for the Egyptian armed forces, it is named the J8

  • I want an original army jeep! The stuff they make today is a joke compared to that!

  • Do some research. The new JK Wrangler is the most off road capable Jeep ever made. And its nice on road too.

  • fuck you stupid fucker

  • I want a Roto-Buggy!

  • Bantam.

    Now I know that name.

  • 9:06-9:12 is one of the most creative ways to move a Jeep over rivers.

  • and dude i would love to drive a brc, lol

  • harold christ made help make 4x4...? he also guy that invented the torque suspension system in teh tanks.

  • More than 650,000 jeeps were produced, during World War II.Just about 50,000 german similar vehicle were produced.Numbers does amtter, during a war.

  • You got to love that flying jeep.

  • You can love it, but your back won't ;-)

  • @2006DURAMAX yeah engineers were insane at the time
