  • @asmithf2k10 no offence; but fulling down with a t is much easier than from a high v; it also makes it look cleaner; thanks for the tiime, and awesome stunt btw(:

  • Who names these things!?!?!?!?

  • I'm really liking this argument about how to spell a lot! :) oh and by the way its spelled A LOT because if I spelled it alot my computer says its wrong.... Just thought I would put my opinion in :)

  • do you have one hand on her foot when you turn around

  • @loulou799 no you dont

  • That was good. High Vs do look a lot better, but she's right. Ts do make it easier to pull up.

However, a major safety concern, besides doing it on hard floor (yeah yeah i know it was legal then) is that when the flyers were doing a full down, they twisted their legs.

Flyers: make sure you keep your legs straight!!

  • WAITTT.... I take back what I said earlier. It was just the angle of the camera. She doesn't look like mee:)

  • Single base stunts can not twist down, multi base stunts can

  • I never knew twisting was illegal omg. Lol we do it like every game we cheer at. From not only halfs, but stretches, scorpions, libs. oops ;)

  • whoaa that girl who was the flyer on the right looked exactly like me...

  • Those were some really nice looking twist outs

  • i love how they are in the middle of a game even though they are having a break and they are yelling cradle and stuff like that..wow

  • @cheerfreakazoid26 i definitly agree we would get in lots of trouble for doing that it is unproffesional

  • i didnt know cheerleader actually performed at games , my school doesnt we only compete in competions.

  • What state are you in because its crazy for it to be "prohibited" what do u do at games?

  • @hmmcfan01 It's still a matter of opinion. We think, cradling from a T is better, waaaay better. That's our OPINION. We think a T motion looks way better and soooo much cleaner...

  • @cheerhempstead actually i have an all star coach and he thinks it also looks better from a high V at first he thought it was nice at a T motion but now he tried a high V and it looks way better and cleaner

  • omggg, are you serious about the full down rule??? about it being new for this school year? i thought only double downs were illegal to do on gym floor. We did them at the UCA camp this year on gym floor for stunting warm up, and the counselors didnt say anything of the such.. and im sure they'd be quite aware of the rule. They actually encouraged us that they were excellent cradles. maybe its different between states. i live in NY..

  • @frosting21 I'm in NY too, and all 2011 basketball season we twisted without mats on the gym floor.... but we didn't do doubles, baskets, or full down extensions, so I think its fine?

  • @xHaleyBear our coach is a saftey FANTIC!!! lol. now that school started like 2 weeks ago, our squad is kinda getting together now twice a week to get back in the jist of stunting for basketball cheer. Our coach never stated about the twist down rule from preps or extensions... She would of had deffinally told us by now. I know the basket tosses are illegal w/o a mat or turf, same with double downs. But other than that... your open to practically anything else. :P

  • @frosting21 Exactly! I mean, if it was any super big harm to us, they'd state it more clearly. It really doesn't hurt a lot even if a full down does go bad on the gym floor, so I'd say it's fine as long as everyone's careful. But I still wouldn't throw a basket on the gym floor without mats;]

And whoever said you can't basket/full down on a track.... that's definitely not right, you can do pretty much everything on a track, unless my school just decides to break every single rule imaginable :P

  • full downs and tosses are listed as "prohibited" on a gymnasium floor and track. also, when your fulling down, starting with your hands in a high v instead of a t looks ALOT better.

  • @Asmithf2k10 Thank you for your comments, however:

    1. If you were paying attention, you would see the video was posted a year ago, when IT WAS LEGAL to perform those stunts on a gym floor. That rule is newly instituted for the 2011-2012 year.

    2. Cradling from a T, not a V is a squad preference, and we think t looks way better than cradling from a V, in addition, it allows the flyer to pull up.

    3. A lot is spelled A LOT...its two words, not one.

  • @cheerhempstead miss, you should be more careful about how you speak to people. You never know who they are or whom they may work for. I did not notice this was posted a year ago, I was looking for a good video of this stunt and came across it. As for your spelling lesson, we can blame that on my phone, but thank you for noticing. Best of luck to your team this year.

  • @cheerhempstead aacca.org/content.aspx?item=safety/of-10-high-school-cheerleading-rules.xml (these are last year's rules, and it clearly states that twist downs and basket tosses were prohibited on gymnasium floor.)

  • @cheerhempstead The stunts looked good, But it was Illegal a year ago, because we weren't allowed to do them either. Just saying.

  • @cheerhempstead

Actually twisting on a hard surface has been illegal for HS since the 2009-2010 season and for college it has been illegal since the 2007-2008 season. I only know this because I work in the cheer industry and have to preach what the athletes can and cannot do when it comes to safety.

  • @QueenEric1987 like a lot of states, rules differ. in iowa, they were illegal after this season posted above.

  • @cheerhempstead you only do a t when u are first learning how to do a twistt down d; and try tucking on your arms when u twist instead of leaving them open just friendly advise . c:

  • @cheerhempstead actually alot is one word

  • @linkmo17 OMG....lol. No, it's not. Soooo funny. Ask your English teacher!

  • @linkmo17 a lot is too words ..TYPE A LOT IN ONE WORD.. its a red line right.. thought so .. stfu really .

  • @linkmo17 lol you are so wrong just admit it

  • @cheerhempstead lol, I noticed that one day in a book I read. some kid had crossed out the right one ( A LOT) and written in (ALOT) so I told the teacher

  • @Asmithf2k10 ooooo she just told you
