Of all the games I've ever played, only the music of Sonic CD has put me in a relaxing trance for a few minutes. I wish it was more readily available to the public, rather than having to struggle to find it....
The part from 0:57 to 1:14 is definitely the best part of this track. It is so beautiful and kind of makes you want to cry. Just listening to that part makes me think deeper about water: out of all of the themes in each level, water, quartzes, pinball, water is definitely the most important. It's the most important part of human life and if anything goes wrong with the water supply, it truly is a bad future. I couldn't care less if a factory gets broken down or if Robotnik's base start rusting.
I think this is more cheerful and epic than the American also. The American was probably better to some people because it also had the Guitar Solo in it and other instruments.I don't know which is better. I preferably like them both!
I cannot decide if this or PPanic Past is my favorite track in the game. This track is absolutely beautiful and describes the clean, pristine setting of the stage perfectly. I love the sparkly, crystal-clear water sound effect, and drums as well. The fluffy flute sound at the end reminds me of a water fountain that is synchronized to music. Can't you imagine a pretty fountain follow that same cadence? Everything in this song indicates purity, cleanliness, and shininess. Awesome.
Well, your opinion's fine but I personally feel the Japanese Metallic Madness bad future is a lot better.
As for Tidal Tempest good...awesome, I love how the drum beats sound like the drum beaters are almost splashing in water, and also the cascading water sound effect :)
I would say that on the rest of the tracks is the other way around, but the US ones are fairly good. Japanese OST is just way better because they took the time and put a lot of effort onto it in order to sound good.
You can't beat the japanese Tidal Tempest Present. You just CAN'T!
I agree. US Tidal Tempest Good future implies a clean sterile lab, but the Japanese version symbolizes a beautiful clean water plant with light sparkling off the pure water that you saved from being ruined.
I like the US tracks, which emits ambience, but the Japanese versions emit a more outcome tune (ex. Good Future sounds happy and beautiful), which is what I prefer.
I don't care if you minus me; that is what I think.
Therefore, through your own words, in the US version, water doesn't matter :P
It IS a lab of some sort, but it emerges from aquatic ruins, so Jap wins the cake.
Although I really like the US OST, out of all tracks you could have chosen to put the fast guitar solo on, would you have picked the good future of a WATER level? xDDDDD
Not saying the track is bad. It's just that I can't see the US ambient stuff on this particular level at all.
BTW, why would I minus you? opinions are opinions!
I agree with you, the US good future does sound like a clean/clear new lab but it doesn't sound so watery like the japanese one which makes it sound the water has now become crystal clear, but i think the US bad future kicks the JP bad future track so much which i believe matches the scenery much better.
I much prefer the JP bad future. Polluted sludge, drowning, chaos are the words that come to mind when I listen to that one...the US Bad future is far too flat and tame. This good future is by far the best too.
I also believe the US also appeals the exact illustration like the japanese but i think it sounds much more interesting and depressing to listen than the really noisy JP track. I also think it fits the whole stage better in my opinion. Don't get me wrong i think both are great bad future tracks but i think the US is much more fitting for the stage.
Mm...don't really agree...I kinda like the US version but it doesn't really sound like any other Tidal Tempest tunes. But the JP bad version twists around the beautiful Tidal Tempest song into a menacing, poweful and hard hitting track extremely well. It's noisy, loud, frightening, and a REAL bad future. Just what they're supposed to be- I LOVE it. =D
For the record I love the good future music too :)

It's a smart idea the US made of making the bad future of a water level very horrible (in a good way), evil, and sad, moreso than the other tracks. Water is the most important resource for humans. I mean, if a factory gets broken down, we are not doomed, but if water becomes polluted, then we definitely are.
SpiralPegasus, I totally agree. The US GF track is cool and catchier than the JP track, but it just doesn't fit the water scenary after the intro part. The track would probably fit in WW GF or MM GF.
This music sounds so peaceful! It's basically the present music without the watery tune but with this "clear water" sound effect instead. I also love the last part where they used whistles instead of the piano.
here's what think i should say about this song BeforE i just simply forget All the things i jUst Thought of and accidentally wIpe it From my memory that yoU can't even find unless your teLepathic.
Japanese version music is just perfection on this game. Ive always had the Jap one I never knew they changed the music for USA one and when I heard it I thought was bloody awful.
I was born with the US soundtrack, and i gotta say I really like it since it was part of my childhood and I've been playing that version for so many years, i do like the Japanese version too.
You can just download a Sonic CD.iso and put it in a folder and put the japanese songs in it as well. This will allow you to go through the game with Japanese music.
@najica1992 Firstly, I weeaboo'd him 'cause he wanted to patch over it (Likely illegal, dunno for sure though.) . Don't care if he likes it better. Secondly, I did not know that, so chillax a bit. Thirdly, your point that I'm a huge turd (I respectfully disagree) could have been made just as well without the use of caps lock. :|

Completely agree with you, that's just how I feel too. It's so cool how the drums almost sound like they're splashing in water. Great comment :)

I believe they sampled this drum beat from The Winston's 'Amen' Break. That drum part is the most sampled drum beat in the music industry.

I think some of you overcredit the Japan versions tremendously.

Yeah they both have good tracks, there are some parts where the US fits better and there is some parts where the Japanese fit IMO.

I always thought sonic boom was rather cheesy, and overdramatic. oh well, that's just my opinion.

IMHO, You Can Do Anything kicks Sonic Boom's ass.
I'd rather be saying
Tidal Tempest Bad future US > TTZBF Japanese
Stardust Speedway BF US > SSZBF Japanese
