  • Damn a movie screen, Starbucks, book store... Is that a church or a mall!?

  • BlueFireWitch - misquoting Shaz doesn't mean that you've debunked anything.

Randall N Baer sold books. He didn't convert to christianity in order to sell books, and the implication is fairly lame. The whole new age racket is in trouble, if pagans can't do better.

Neither did he say that all new age scrounge for money. Just most of them. Which is true. Check out the Oprah channel.

Right now, christianity is kicking your pagan ass, and it's embarassing!

  • 1) I've never misquoted him. 2) I never disputed that he sold books. Selling books doesn't make one a leader in the community. 3) Your "whole new age racket" sentence is a senseless generalization. 4) I never said he said that. There are no quotes around what I said, but he did outline where Randall N Baer said that nothing is free in the New Age and emphasized that point. I debunked it. 5)Oprah is hardly a New Age leader. She's an enthusiast. Paganism is rising, Christianity is dying.

  • Continued...

You were just pwned too. Every point you made, I thoroughly refuted. How does it feel to have your ass kicked by a Pagan?

  • But why do you keep wasting your time here, when you are neither a pagan nor a christian!? You idiot!

You are neither side of the debate, feel that both are wasting their lives, but you waste your life, talking to them.

It seems to me that a person that believes in nothing, really will fall for anything.

And as for that joke about worrying when you're dead, you really are too weak.

  • Personally I think wicca, pagans & other are just as nutty as christianity. Why can't people simply enjoy their time on earth with their favorite friends & activities without subscribing to some dreamed up belief system?

  • I guess the best way to answer that is that everyone has different life experiences which make them see the world differently. Its human instinct to form groups and identify with those groups.

  • Yes, I have no real objection to it other than I see (belief) as a waste of precious time. I would rather spend my time living. When I'm dead I'll be busy being dead & I see no need worring about it now.

  • And I suppose I'd feel the same way if I didn't get gratification from my religious practices. But, I see it as life enhancement regardless of the afterlife.

  • Ok fine, as long as you are not in one of the pagan groups who enjoy murder & cannibalism. I find those practices repulsive. Seems like people get bored with the lower levels eventually & move on to the sick stuff later. Thats all I thinking. I'll leave you alone now. Best regards...

  • Oh I condemn harm and I don't like it when people call themselves Pagans and then hurt people in the name of their religion.

  • I think he have a guilty conscious about money.

  • how dare shaz pass judgement on us. I never charge a dime for tarot reading or astrological analysis. I talk about the goddess to those who want to listen.

  • Me neither, and I've done lots of tarot readings. I may accept a cup of tea and some cookies. Tarot readings make me hungry. :-D Of course there are fake gurus and such, scams and such.

  • While living in New Orleans, I started performing marriages for a very low cost because the CHRISTIANS were charging so much for weddings. I offer plenty of services and I hope the person can compensate me for gas and whatever other expenses I incur, but other than that, I'm not expecting anything. If the person can't afford that much, I pay for it.

In the case of ordinations and consecrations, etc. I have never taken reimbursement for costs...even when point blank asked to do so.

  • There are many events I've gone to including most ESC events where no one is turned away for lack of funds. Even for the small group intensive classes that were 3 hrs long. If they couldn't pay, they could volunteer for ESC instead.

  • If you look at amazon, you find one religion book in the top 25 bestsellers. It is a Christian book and has been in the top 100 for 78 days. It's at position 20 now. Not until we get to position 59 do we get a book that is not New Age, but critical of Christianity. At position 71 you get another Christian book. From my perusing, there's not a single new age book in the top 100. If I wanted to write a book and make a lot of money, I think I'd be looking at the best seller's list...

  • so shaz goes to a shop or a fair and doen't expect to see things for sale ???!!! LOLOL Ha ha hahahaha hahah HAHAHAHAHAH sooo funnnyyyy LOLOLOL LOLOLOLOL PMSLMAO LMAO

  • I for one hate the monetary system, and when people ask me how would we trade, it goes back to the saying, "Don't hate the player, hate the game." In order to defeat the system, one must not even use it. When healing techniques or whatever are used for monetary gain, it's a no-brainer that person is a slave to the system. Simply within witchcraft, if you can't live off of the land, then first you cannot claim to be a pagan, because you rely on something other than what you represent.

  • why do you feel the need to defend the truth? It is self explanatory and defending it means that you are obviously defending a lie. If you go on and on defending something it shows that you have something to hide rather than letting people come to their own conclusion about things that are self evident..

  • I don't see it as defending the truth, I see it as educating a different perspective. Some of the people who watch Shaz's videos don't get to see the Pagan perspective on the matter and it needs to be heard. I don't think it makes me look like I have something to hide at all. And I'm not really sure how you get that out of what I'm saying, but to each his/her own.

  • Shaz is not addressing pagans, he addressing Christians so you are not even part of his audience. When he makes his videos, the intention is that the christian perspective is going to be shown and since pagans are not part of the audience there is no expectation that they should be. You are not defending any thing to begin with you are attacking his sources so therefore you are not defending. He is the one that is defending.

  • I never claimed he was addressing Pagans. I fully agree he's addressing Christians and that's the audience I'm trying to reach. Because information like Shaz is stating cannot stand on it's own. THere must be another perspective given, and as I said, many of his viewers may not be aware of that perspective.

  • For instance, we tend to distance ourselves from authors like Silver Ravenwolf who is obviously in it to make money.
