Hello . Is anybody can help me with that issue please i dont know what is wrong with it but i think its problem with the video. You can see the stripes when its booting and after that its working but the video card its not responding and when i instaled the video card drivers it wont turn on just freeze and restarts again and again. It works only if i unninstall the drivers but then icons are bigger and not smooth. Thanks in advance if anyone gives me advice. here is the link with the video.10x
Hey bro, if a wrong driver is installed then they system will go into the reboot mode as you are currently experiencing. Ensure you get the correct drivers, also try reseating or replacing your memory and see if the strips go away. Where are you located?
@LuckiRam Well i tried with memory it doesnt helps. About the drivers i was using this laptop for 4 years with the drivers that im trying to install i think its the graphic card. but thanks anyway.
would of been much better without the damn awful bubblegum pop music. freakin bryon adams for crying out loud!!......well.....anyway, thanks for uploading video, it was a big help.
after cleaning my fan following your video, i no longer have any backlight on my screen, however, their is a picture but no backlight, what would be the problem?
Backlit problem is from the display unit, ensure all cables are not broken/ loose, and is connected properly; however if the display unit was mishandled then it’s possible it suffered a broken lamp.
Thx for the video, I was able to get to my fan and clean it, but the problem isn't solved. Sometimes it sounds like an airplane, and then it suddenly becomes so quiet, like it died, do u have any idea what the problem is? Should I get a new fan? My laptop is about 5 years old, I have never touched any of the hardware before xD
When you are running heavy applications, the fan would come on at full speed (causing the noise), and would just be in idle mode when you are in Microsoft word or running lite applications. It’s all normal.
However if you can get a new fan it may reduce the noise, or if not, try cleaning the fan with WD40,
@Shibilein i have the same problem! suddenly the fan would speed up like crazy and stop. after this happened my computer would die ( my fps on games would drop to 10- 15, even ones like counter strike )
Hi LuckiRam, just one quick question: is it possible to replace the wireless card without having to remove the whole upper part of the case? Can I just replace it the moment i see it (right after i take out the keyboard)? Also, what kind of card can I put in it, as in does it only take specific models or all mini pci-express models such as the Intel Ultimate N 633ANHMW? Thanks for the excellent vid btw!
Yes you can remove the Card once the keyboard is off.
I’ve tried different brands of card and all works well; however you would have to get a card with the same size/diameter, to ensure it can be screwed down and also a card that has only 2 antenna plugs.
Yes the red part with the second heat sink is the upgraded Graphics card.
No Need to panic, most systems were shipped with an integrated graphics adapter; however the socket should be on your board, giving you the option to upgrade.
Look at part 2 of the video again, pause it at 00:27 sec, you would see a black sticker with “Push Here “ written on it, in the same location on your system, you should see the video card slot.
@LuckiRam i'm pretty sure my system isn't one of them.i remember there was a texturized white area in the same location you described.it was like a 2-dimentional socket on the board..you can see what i mean if you search "DA0FM1MB6F5" on google..i guess youtube doesn't allow posting links here.
and i'm not panicing anymore.. dissapointment is the dominant feeling now :(
hey.great video..i got a few questions for you.is it really possible to upgrade graphic cards on this model?how? i also have an inspiron 6400 with a 224mb intel gm945 graphic card on it, but i never thought there was a way of upgrading it.
and secondly, it is a custom paint job right ? i've never seen a black one till now..it looks cool, what kind of paint it is?
@LuckiRam hey, thanks for quick reply..one thing though, after watching this, i opened mine last night, and motherboard looked a bit different from yours.for example, there weren't a second heat sink like you have on your graphic card (i guess it's the red one, rihgt?).i have just one, with a one line of copper.and also, i couldn't distinguish the videocard, since there weren't any color differences like yours..it was all green :) what was the previous videocard you used ?
Thanks for the clear video. What type/model of speakers did you use? Do you know where i could get some? And that's just standard clear silicone sealant?
Hey, you can check Amazon, or eBay for Dell notebook internal speakers/Replacement; however I pulled 2 speakers from an old, Dead, Dell, Celeron 500 Notebook. Yes, I think it was standard silicone, with 100 % RTV written on the tube. Hope I was able to help, Please subscribe!
oh and my dvd burner died also, (it was a liteon or something like that) what kind of optical drive i need to put in instead (size, type, anything that will fit to a 6400) because its a real pain using my external HDD and my desktop in order to install a game from a CD/DVD :/
Thank you for this video. Was able to put fresh thermal grease between my cpu/heat sink and clean dust out of the air intake on my 1501. Running great!
At >>AD4MPRODUCT1ONZ No you don’t have to remove everything, but I recommend you do.
After removing the screws and working on the system you will most likely get slack connections on your drives /memory …, which you would eventually have to remove and reinsert. It would also be safer if the drives are out and placed in a secure location in order to ensure you don’t drop them while working on the system.
i can put the link here .you can see the video on my profile . thankyou..

And is it me or is that distracting to have the cd cutting like that?

Yes you can install the card but before you do anything ensure your mainboard has the socket to accommodate the card

Hey, yes it is possible; however you will need a compatible graphics adapter, e.g.
Graphics Adapter for Dell Inspiron 6400:
Nvidia GeForce GO 7300
ATI X1400 Video Graphics Card.
Took it to a Friends Auto/Body Shop, its car paint.

Hey, Just search for IDE Laptop DVD Burner ( DVD-RW)
Any brand would work providing it is IDE; however you would have to swap the faces.
Or you can just go to amazon and search, there is a couple which already have on the face for you system.
