  • Thanks Elise. Enjoyed the video, pity about the weather!

  • @DCM30 it rains a lot and is mostly freezing - I am used to not having a warm August now after five years of it!

  • Danny Worthington for Prezident!

  • cheap and nutristouis lol

  • "that looks like aurthur's seat" yah yaar

  • the ginger guy with the beard looks like the type that would have ripped wallace's bowels out in 1305, or is it just me?

  • Danny? He can be quite fierce but he is normally pretty easy going!

  • I d shag her!!

  • ok, no way did 4,586 people watch ALL of your vid, 1 min if your lucky?

No seriously, youre really nice & entertaining but you need to learn how to GET TO THE POINT and your fans will follow.

I am one, but take it easy Hen x

  • the scots monument the comlete other direction!!!

  • JEEEEEZUZZ! I really hope your "performance" at the festival is more entertaining than this bland, "please someone love me" video diary!

Why do a diary that doesn't say anything? Hmmmmm...

  • Edinburgh ...simply fantastic!!

  • the worste thing about living in edinburgh is having to put up with all the english twats like you lot who come here every fucking year... fuck off !

  • I am not actually English, but thanks for being so very tolerant and all.

  • dickhead

  • robblac, the BEST thing about growing up in Edinburgh is the invasion of these 'english twats' and other 'foreign wankers', who actually bring a bit of life to the city for 4 weeks every year and make it easier to forget the fact that this city is full of ignorant, dreary, intollerent, shortbread eating, tartan loving, racist wankers like you. I hope Eliseharris doesn't hold your comments against us Edinburghians and comes back. I'd swap a twat like you for 10 of her.

  • you wish you were from edinburgh smith.. you are just another english arsehole wanna be scot, like rod stewart.. fuck off back home. !

  • poor robblac...he's 38 apparently! A keyboard warrior, angry at all those people out there enjoying themselves, so he picks humourless fights and spouts bile on the internet!

  • aye, ? so what are you doing here thats so fuckin productive ? cockbag.

  • I hate Edinburgh, the city of ghosts & dogs.

  • You've taken a three second clip of a train track and announced "this is Newcastle"

Have you even visited the City? If this is Newcastle, to you, then to me, I would sum up your video with:

    "this is narrow minded"

    - Amy, Newcastle.

  • This is Newcastle, meaning "now I am passing through Newcastle and it's all I can see of it from the train" - I don't see how that is narrow minded. I can hardly show more of the place when I haven't visited properly. It's footage of the train journey - what do you expect?

  • It was the only footage I had of the journey back and it was more of a caption for information purposes. It wasn't Edinburgh or London or any of the other places between I saw from the window, it was all I saw of Newcastle from the train.

  • Hi Elise! It's amazing how small Arthur's Seat looks from a distance!! I climb it every week and swear to god it gets bigger and steeper every week!!!

  • Hope Edinburgh was not to wet for you this year. Watching this video you don't look all that happy, but I believe that to be part of you're intervarsity. Observing your interviews, you have a haunting look of inner searching, bewilderment and matter of fact confidence! That is haunting. I loved you're ID.

Ps. I stay in the Canongate with a lot of space for free.

  • I think my face usually looks more miserable than I actually am. It did rain a lot though and I lost my umbrella early on and had to get a new one. If you were in the Canongate I probably walked past where you stay a lot.

  • very nice info you also look good and happy, show us more impressions like this. and change your vegetable series in to: wat kind of animal is this!!! the first one was a spider indeed.

  • Great video thank's!!

    Five Stars!

  • At the video timer 04:23/13:36 the website on the sign is realmarykingsclose (dot) com. Very interesting place Mary King's Close.

  • Yes, I didn't go down there this year but I took a tour in 2006. Very creepy down there. Wouldn't have liked to have lived in the lower levels. Then again a lot of the Fringe venues are similar!

  • This is really enjoyable and clever. Much more enjoyable than some US made documentaries that change scenes every 10 seconds or so. Just another wonderful creation of yours and a treasure. Will you marry me when you are 78? At my age, you won't have to worry about me carrying through with it.

  • I spy with my little eye something beginning with 'N' ... Give up? OK. Nuclear power station - Tor Ness nuke at t=00:03. Did any two-headed zombies try to board the bus there?

  • Great videos, hope you make more soon.

  • I hope that you on the whole you had a great time .......personally l prefur Mexico......

  • Great stuff!

  • That was possibly not the greatest ad that Edinburgh has ever had. :)

  • If you want a cheap and reasonable eating place during the Fringe you go to Bistro Square and visit the Student hall.

Artists and anyone else in the know go in there to visit the canteen. The bars inside are open until late at night as well.

I often would meet famous actors and artists from all over the World in there.

  • that's why i never venture up - the wee scottish spiders are not so wee.

  • Elise probably Wales's tastiest little minx even when she's carrying a carrier bag!

  • all hail the sith

  • Ha! I love the speed up on the steps, I was hoping you would pause and sigh/ be out of breath, then carry on - and you did! Comic greatness!

  • if your back fro thje 20th come to the forest cafe at 11pm to see my film on the big scree. (online flyer lol) hahahahahhahahahah nice to see you aproove of the lego.

  • Today? Where is the Forest cafe?

  • Thanks for the tour Elise! It's been around 25 years since I was there, so it was fun seein' how it looks now and to hear your narrative. (Be careful when you're out so late tho! (You really wouldn't be safe doin' that in many USA major cities, but I don't know how it is in Scotland at 2 or 3 A.M.))

  • It's probably never safe to be wandering around late at night - especially in a red light district. That said I tend to always end up living in the very rough parts of towns that are not really safe at mid day and so far I am OK.

  • Glad to hear the festival went well!

Any chance you might upload the audio of your acts up Elise?

  • Not sure. It is 'story telling'rather than stand up.

  • the scottish monument is on the other side on the bridge the thing you though was the scots monument was cleopatra

  • Oh I hate taking the wrong bus. You get left in the strangest places.

  • dats what u bin workin on, gd work

  • You can

    very good,

    speak english

my pensioner neighbour Peter from england

  • hi Elise, did the canon scare you the first time you heard it? I thought it was an explosion

  • I like my men like i like my coffee,

    I don't like coffee. : )

  • Hi Elise, Edinburgh looks like a happening place. Did you attend the Human Be-In? (13:36) I find it very interesting that you ordered "American" coffee. That's the very kind I make at home, but then all the coffee I make is American by geographic definition!

  • Americano - in this country it's what they have on all the boards as a black coffee - espresso with hot water - but usually they make it white anyway unless you go through a very long drawn out 'black...no milk...' discussion and then even then you end up with a crappy white coffee. Gah!

  • lol

  • Elise, you must look like a white coffee person to the average coffee house employee. I'm a tall ugly sort of chap and they must always assume I take black coffee so they ask but must assume black is my preference. You good looking people must look like white coffee people to them so you get it white unless you insist otherwise - look on it as a complement!

  • Interesting theory, and thansk for the compliment yourself - it still makes me mad though! Grr. Milk. Yuk.

  • LOL - milk in coffee is yuk. However, a wee spot of milk in your tea is OK, unless it's green tea, or the milk's just about to go off.

  • I suspect going 'I just want a f...ing black coffee!' might be more effective.

  • If anything, it would have wonderful shock value in more or less civilized venues. I suspect it may not, however, have the same effect in an establishment that caters to sailors and dogsbodies.

  • nice video, one day i'll go to Edinburgh

  • I love you, Elise! :-)

  • Nice one as usual, but the captions were a little too brief for me to read. Did 'Cat' starve when you were away? These details matter! We care!

  • welcome back! but I missed the footage of his pool opening shot! Must have hit really bad LOL

  • haha, that whimper you made when confronted with the final steps was classic.

If you do go again Elise,I recommend the Heresy-Project 1 hour show at the Jekyll & Hyde bar.

visit heresy-project dot com for address and info, it's a free show also..

Absolute gold,& lots of references in it I think you would get very quickly, it is a great show.

Anyway, gotta go do some writing for a gig next thursday now, its never easy : (

    :) SD

  • I loved the part when you got up the big part of the steps, turned and saw more steps and made that little noise. (I apologize for laughing at your discomfort, but I can hardly be blamed.)

  • ahhh awesome! you rock!

  • You could get Falafel everywhere which is relatively cheap and fairly nutritious.

  • Danny Worthington sounds like a bigger, bushier Russell Brand! Great video Elise, subscribed yesterday so I look forward to a lot more!

  • Has food withdrawal become an issue?

"Sapphire" the kitty told me to ask, mind.

  • lol at the sped up parts :)

  • cool!

  • Welcome back Elise x

  • Did I hear a "it just feels like I didn't ever Leith" pun in the first few seconds? (your diction is usually so precise.) And the clatter of sole upon step makes me wonder about the suitability of your footwear.

Beguiling reportage - thank you. Hope the weather is slightly kinder when you head back up, but the jet stream really seems to have it in for these isles this summer.

  • It does sound like that's what I said, yes. It wasn't deliberate though.

  • I enjoyed that! Glad to see you're back. I like your cat :-D

  • Hi Elise, enjoy your videos, love your accent, keep up the good work!

  • Amazing! looks like a fun and productive edinburgh for you this time around. I wish I was there.

Hope your summer is gets some sunshine!

    peace elise!

  • Hi Elise, Interesting to see your exploits in Edinburgh.

Pity about all the rain, though its been wet here in London too. Some summer eh?

  • Stressful trip! I hope you were wearing comfortable shoes, Elise.

My experience with cats is that they can hold grudges. They don't like their routine disrupted and are capable of exacting revenge.

May I suggest you put up a couple of your audio tapes as videos?

  • Yes. I have a massive scratch on my front now!

  • Great video, shame about the rain though. Hope you made loads of lovely contacts at the festival. Edinburgh is really expensive if you're eating out though, isn't it? Glad to see you back.

  • That's a lot of steps! Nice seeing a new vid from you Elise! IT's been a while. I'm glad you got your camera back. :D

  • You can always find food up steps!

  • i was wondering were you were off too! nice to see you deary

  • Haha you sound like Pingu going up those steps.

  • did you go through middlesbrough railway station? i would have waved as your train went past, haha..but i couldn't do the waiting, i would just put a cardboard cut out of me, with a moveable mechanic arm and a sign saying "Hello, Elise..Bye, Elise" That would do.

  • It stopped in about six places, but I don't think Middlesbrough was one of them.

  • i just thought you might have because you went through newcastle in your video.

  • Nice one chap :) People in Middlesborough sound pretty well balanced - sane v ridiculous. I love the idea of a waving cutout

  • well middlesbrough is a very underrated town but you can still get your weirdos like in every town really.

  • Thank's for the tour of Scotlands famous city Elise! Were you at a theatre festival? (How about a walking tour of your favorite London places?) Glad your back safe.......CHEERS

  • You did a lot of walking Elise. No wonder you're so thin. Having lost your camera must have worried you no end. Glad you found it. Wonderful journal of your time at the festival. YT should feature this video.

Danny seems like a cool guy to have as a friend.

  • Yay! I think I am the first to comment! Unless they have forgot to update it like you said on the MICHAEL JACKSON:OVER THE MOON movie trailer, haha. You always called your humanoid cat "cat", has it got a name?
