I looked up this baritone guitar because I was curious about the instrument Wes Montgomery used on his album Movin' Along. Unfortunately I had to listen to this goober wank some crap on it as he doesn't know how to express the potential of this instrument. For anyone who is interested in a good demonstration of this instrument listen to Wes Montgomery play Body and Soul on Movin' Along. Or I suppose we could listen to this guy play Smoke on the Water...
Hey man, I like you. I also really dig this guitar. I've been wanting to get a baritone even lower - not for heavier metal or spookier Spaghetti Western, but just for an even fuller tone. Is there anything like this or the Fender Bass VI that a young guy like me would be able to afford?
What the hell was that noise after you said your name? I've never heard anybody make that kind of noise. But then again, we are all just mere mortals, unlike you
this is a total rare bird instrument. I can't remember what version there are more of in the EB-6, the hollow body 335 style, or the solid body SG style. Either way, there were not a lot. Gibson was trying to cash in on the tic-tac bass craze Danelectro had created, and I don't think they saw it as a success, either that or the Fender Bass VI killed it when it came out, with it's tremolo system and everything.
see thats how cliff would play. he'd put that fuckin overdrive on there, slap on a whammy and go to fucking TOWN on that shit. sexy bass though, i like it

Is that a killswitch or is it missing a knob?
C1o88er3d 2 years ago
@C1o88er3d it is the "baritone" switch, moves the tone from very bass to a comparatively high pitch. Same as on the EB2 Semi-Hollowbocy bass.
inagaty 2 years ago
it's a bass boost/cut switch
kyzrvlhlm1995 2 years ago
@C1o88er3d It's the Baritone. It changes the tone from bass-y to higher pitch.

henry12350 2 years ago 2
Bass strings. It's a special set of bass strings, though.
gryzlov 2 years ago
They are a special gauge. They are technically "bass" strings but range from .25 on the highest to .95 on the lowest string.
